  1. MU's thoughts for the weekend: Despite recent showers and #thunderstorms, northern MD and much of southeastern PA are still being plagued by moderate drought conditions. However, a widespread 2-3" of rain from tomorrow through Sunday evening will put an abrupt end to the drought!
  2. Yeah round after round of rain just get moving west to east over the southern half of Adams, York and Lancaster counties. More or less the Rt. 30 corridor was the line between dry with some breaks in the clouds and a chilly rain.
  3. If my wife saw this she'd say that's me...(not literally in that picture, of course)
  4. CTP's updated forecast includes a major change for Sunday. This morning's forecast was Partly Sunny with showers after 3pm and a high of 72. Latest forecast is Rain. High of 63.
  5. I have a few big projects that I'm working on. In fairness, I left for a couple of hours to go to the gym with my wife so that broke up the day nicely.
  6. Everything that I'm hearing is that the rain won't arrive east of the river until the afternoon hours. We'll find out soon!
  7. Wow, did you ever smoke me! More than doubled in fact. I had a very long day at the office (15 hours) and didn't leave for home until after 11pm last night. It rained nearly nonstop from 3pm until sometime after I had left...it was still a moderate rainfall when I left for home. By the time I got to Columbia the roads were dry. Pulled in my driveway and the sky was mostly clear. (but it did rain again overnight)
  8. A lot of people in the office are complaining and thought that this type of weather was done. It's amazing how many people think that it's a steady rise from winter to summer and that we don't go through the ups and downs of transitional periods.
  9. Yep that makes a of sense. I'm rooting for that scenario.
  10. MU is in the "rain camp" for the daytime hours Sunday with highs in the mid 60s.
  11. Sorry that you and others didn't receive more rain yesterday. The GFS and NAM that you describe seem to go directly against what CTP is thinking - they have me at Partly Sunny and warm on Sunday with a chance of showers after 3pm.
  12. .32" of rain fell yesterday afternoon and overnight in Maytown. .76" fell in Conestoga.
  13. Closest rain gauge to my office is at .48" for the day" but only .16" has fallen at home. All this afternoon.
  14. Reverse psychology only works during the non-winter months I guess...
  15. 2nd storm here at the office now. No hail but heavy rain, lightning and thunder.
  16. He can go with it but hail was going with force into my car. LOL
  17. Temp dropped down to 50 at the height of the storm but has rebounded to 55 now. Not much if any wind so the hail did not drift.
  18. The cell that produced hail here at work and at home is going nuts SW of Lancaster city right now. That area is getting smoked.
  19. I was caught off guard by the lightning - multiple close cloud to ground strikes. I was in Columbia heading to Conestoga and the hail was significant - I was driving so no good measurements but the car was getting torpedoed. Best hail display I've seen in some time.
  20. I'll say! Hail, heavy rain, vivid lightning and thunder. Just arrived here at work and it's impressive.
  21. Rain wasn't even on my radar ( ) this morning...I just looked back at the loop from earlier this morning and it took a LOT of skill to miss out on the fun...there was the tiniest gap in a line that came through earlier and that tiny gap found my casa. I'm offsite today and just checked in with a couple of people in the office...they were like "duh, it rained." Made me feel even worse. LOL
  22. According to MU, we might have envelopes falling from the skies later today! A few showers are currently impacting southeastern PA & northern MD, but they’ll become more widespread this afternoon & evening after a brief lull late this morning. As the atmosphere becomes more unstable, some rumbles of thunder & small mail may accompany the heaviest showers.
  23. Liking the all caps to reinforce the message of how bad I suck at weather.
  24. You're too Young to be following like a Hawk! Last night was our night - we had perfectly clear skies and calm winds during the evening hours and my temp was dropping like a rock. It was 61 at 6pm, 39 by 11pm. Much colder than the previous 2 nights. Shortly after midnight the clouds moved in and that was that. Only dropped to 38 here. Wait - it rained overnight or this morning? I really do live in the precip anus of PA...nothing even close to precip in Maytown.
