  1. My in laws had .75" of rain last week. We had them over on Father's Day, talking about how hard it rained at their place while we were sitting on my parched lawn. LOL I'm up to 87.3 currently.
  2. With each passing (dry) day - this map gets more discouraging slowly but steadily:
  3. I will say this about East Nantmeal - depending on where I park for Philly sports events, sometimes it's easier for me to come home via the Turnpike. There have been several occasions during the winter that the weather, whether it was the amount of snow on the ground, the intensity of frozen precip falling, the condition of the turnpike itself...it's always worst right around the Peter J. Camiel Service Plaza westbound. My wife is on to this and will ask out loud when leaving Philly if we'll encounter bad conditions around that service plaza. I just looked up this morning where that service plaza is located... It's either in or directly adjacent to East Nantmeal.
  4. Sunny and 85 at 10:50. 2 degrees below yesterday at this time, temp rise rate is significantly higher than yesterday, though. CTP has me for today through Sunday: 92, 94, 96, 98.
  5. I agree with this sentiment. The first 3 days of the great heatwave of 2024 has not matched the hype and honestly, a lot of local forecasters predictions. What might ultimately be remembered after the fact us the duration and not the intensity. Though...I reserve the right to change my mind at high noon on Sunday sitting in Citizens Bank Park...
  6. Today is the hottest day of the season in Maytown. Reached 93.8 at 4:17pm.
  7. Wait...people go food shopping at places other than Stauffer's?
  8. Sunny and 92.2 at 3pm. MU has not gotten above 89 on their 5 minute obs.
  9. 90/69 at 1:50pm. Day #3 of current heatwave. Day #4 over 90 for the season.
  10. You ain't hitting 90 and I'm struggling - still holding firm at 88 which I've been at for over an hour now.
  11. We're both running a little warmer than the airports. Also, MU dropped 2 degrees over the past 15 minutes.
  12. Actually running a little hotter than yesterday at this time - 88.3 at 11:50am.
  13. Speaking of which, CTP has a graphic on their home screen with the "Heat Risk" index for Central PA from today through next Tuesday. There is Minor, Moderate, Major and Extreme. Extreme is for HI at or above 110 I believe - most of the LSV surrounding the river are in the Major Category on Friday and Saturday and Extreme for Sunday, meaning that they expect the HI to reach 110.
  14. Thank you! I find it interesting that September's record high is higher than June's.
  15. 72 was my low. As MU predicted we had a slight drop in dews last evening (about 5-6 degrees) that allowed for more cooling than I thought we'd have.
  16. I wouldn't make this prediction, but there's a "path" for this to last into midweek. Monday is the big question mark - at least in our area, 90s seem all but certain through Sunday. Now the Tuesday-Wednesday timeframe next week is looking like 90s are quite possible. If we somehow pull off a 90 on Monday, by the middle of next week we would be at double digit consecutive days.
  17. LNS had significant rain late last week. I had nothing. Ground here is receptive to maximum heating. Huge difference in yards between most of Lanco and where I'm at. My yard is whimpering.
