  1. Lol. Yes! But it was the Buggles.
  2. Fritos and Ruffle potato chips are my go to, but when I’m feeling nostalgic, I get some Bugles, turn my hands into monster claws, and eat them from my fingertips.
  3. Same. Got into a heavy 10 minute downpour and now some steady rain. I hope it keeps coming.
  4. Very good! Thanks. We may be up that way for a quiet 4th of July weekend. Unrelated, but my girl and I decided to bait up the trot line and give it a go for some crabs even though it is early and it’s been pretty chilly. We didn’t get on the water until 4:30 but managed a dozen and a half of some big, muddy, and packed crabs. I left the bait on the trot line just in case I want to sneak out again tomorrow after work!
  5. Mojitos on the patio with fresh mint from the garden.
  6. I’ll take “Another Bump North” for $1,000, Alex.
  7. @jonjon is the taproom open these days? Need another fix.
  8. My garden would love low 80's, high humidity, partly sunny, and off and on showers for a few days. I don't need 5" (even though I'm mostly Irish, RR), but I'd gladly take a heavy downpour every day.
  9. That was a great read and, more interestingly, it makes me consider opening a twitter account. Well done!
  10. It's turning into a beautiful evening. Humidity still dropping and temps in the low 80's. Started happy hour with a Manhattan and cruised the back 100 (square yards?) checking out the seedling transfers and pulling a few weeds with drink in hand. Back inside and opened the slider and the windows and turned off the downstairs AC. The upstairs AC died last August and I'm on the schedule for a replacement, but last night's sleep was brutal. Tonight and through the weekend should be awesome.
  11. Critters can be so much better than people.
  12. Cool. I took the survey and basically said that they shouldn't dumb anything down for the sake of those that won't educate themselves. I also said that they should bring back the "traveler's advisory."
  13. Sun is out here and it's really sticky out there. I did some moving of seedlings and am sweating like a pig. I was hoping for cloudy and showers all day to help the seedlings survive, but if not, it's not a big deal. They were coming up from last year's harvest that I didn't pick and don't want to just kill, so I'm not too invested. Picked up another .15" this morning to bring the event to .83". Looking at that map from @losetoa6, I've got only another 11 inches coming in the next week.
  14. I haven’t seen a map like that since January 2016.
  15. .68” last night. The “thin line” is close.
  16. 0.17” from the storm this evening. Hopefully there’s another one behind it.
  17. I got busy with work, but turned on the power and no smell. I’ll plug in something to it now. Thanks for checking in.
  18. I'm guessing that could be good because we might get the storms in before sunset?
  19. Lol. Thanks. I have turned back on the power and hopefully there’s no more smell. One thing I noticed is that the breaker to turn off that room is the breaker (15 amps) for the original 3 rooms upstairs. That seems like a lot to me, but I’m an electrical dummy. Also, I’m not sure if you remember my house or even went upstairs (though I do remember you at the party working hard for that one girl...)
  20. @losetoa6 I have a problem and wondered if I could get your expertise. There’s a strong electric smell in one of our rooms upstairs that has two outlets and an overhead light. There is a digital alarm clock plugged into one outlet which appears fine. In the other outlet is a timer that turns on three 4 watt window candles in the evening. The timer covers the outlet and when I unplugged it, there is a light dusting of black soot on the back and sides of the timer. Nothing on the outlet. I turned off the power, pulled the outlet out of the box without disconnecting it, and am airing out the room. I’ll leave the outlets free of any connections, turn the power back on shortly, and see if the smell returns. My hope is that the timer has gone bad and not the outlet. If it’s not the timer, will the outlet still produce the smell if nothing is plugged in? And if it’s the outlet, is it something as simple as switching out the outlet?
  21. That's really cool. What veggies have you grown there?
  22. I don’t mind admitting that I had to look up hugelkultur bed. Very cool.
  23. I prefer bush beans because the climbing varieties overtake everything. I’ve got a lot of climbers from last year germinating in the garden that I hate throwing away so I’m moving them to a setting on the other side of the yard where they can do whatever they want.
  24. Another beautiful June morning and heavy dew on the lawn. 59.
