    It looked the same way here in Southern Nassau County. Epic storm! There's a dusting of snow on the ground but thankfully not on the roads.

    If we get a huge snowstorm I would be thrilled. Even if it's the only storm all winter and it happens in March, then bring on spring.

    Was there any damage from Hurricane Hazel in New York City? I can't find any info online about it, all I found was the wind speed.

    Pouring rain here. It's not too often that the heavy rain band sets up over Nassau County.

    The storm skipped over Southern Nassau County.

    1821 Norfolk/Long Island hurricane was probably close to the 1938 hurricane in strength when it hit NYC. It caused a lot of damage there, read the newspapers for that storm. It was estimated to have been a category 3 over NYC and Category 4 over Southern NJ. That would be the worst case scenario for Long Island/NYC and worse than Sandy.

    It's getting ridiculous, no rain here in 15 days. I hope tonight delivers a good rain but it doesn't look that way based on radar.

    No rain here in 2 weeks. The mature Sycamore trees in the area are losing a lot of their leaves. It must be from a lack of rainfall.

    Only 0.30 here on August 22nd. It doesn't look like there's any rain in the forecast for at least a week.

    The soils dried out in the yard. Last rain here was last Wednesday. Newly planted tree's are going to start becoming stressed if there's not a soaking rain soon with all this heat.
