I absolutely agree with this albeit going against climo in CT. If you go through the entire holiday season without a winter event, it’s hard to say the winter was epic when your first snow was Jan 28th. It’s just not the same, even though the science says ain’t happening James.

It wasn’t a good winter, however I’m shocked that 18” on the season gave me the sustained wintry vibe I experienced compared to the last many. For that reason alone I give the winter a C- overall on all metrics

Completely different worlds. At Mount snow, deep winter up here in S.VT. Once we got on the backroads up to the base of the Mountain, massive snow banks, fresh snow from Thursday and a few inches last night. Gorgeous, no sign of spring here

Id say yes, all winter we have had a favorable set up that hasn’t materialized to its full potential. The table was set IMO. We also had, if I remember correctly, at least 3 storms that had cross model guidance long term-mid term showing a fairly robust signal that we lost in the short term. That’s essentially my point. We have had much more favorable set ups this winter that didn’t pan out, this event doesn’t have that, so I’m more skeptical anything of consequence happens.

Yeah every family member, wife included, think I’m legit crazy about snow and it’s fair. Then I meet a fellow weenie and I’m like damn, we are the same. Something in all of our Brain chemistry is similar. They need to do CTE style studies on the brain of the weenie.

Either way, I’m pretty tapped out. I do think that would fit the tenor though. We nape and dream of installing, only to have the storm of the season chain us to a rusty support beam in the basement.

I think we are gonna grab something first half of March when we don’t want it. Well, some of us will, some of us won’t, we just don’t know the exact ratio.

It’s funny how the inaccuracy of modeling is almost always from something great to nothing. I’m not saying positive busts don’t happen, it’s just so rare and it’s not like you go from no storm to a blizzard. It’s more like oh wow I got 8” instead of 5”. More commonly though we will see a massive storm on modeling and it fades to nothing. Why doesnt it ever go the other way? I’m sure if we were all being surprised by positive bust storms on the regular we wouldn’t be as hard on the models. Alas, it’s ALWAYS a let down, bring back surprise storms and positive busts.
