You’re a peach. Thanks for that. I’ve been on this board long enough to know that PhineasC, psu, and mappy will likely report snow falling well north of me while it also falling south and west of me while I wait.
Thanks don. That captures the forum split on this storm perfectly.
Frustrating for those of us in here in the blue. Although I think that frustration was generally handled well.
Probably the biggest forum splitter in terms of totals over such a short distance in our forum where a majority of forum cashed and a small area didn’t since I think the second Feb 2010 blizzard left @mattie g area behind in terms of totals. Maybe @C.A.P.E.‘s area in Jan. 2016 in the dry slot too.
fun storm to track though and at least no one got shut out.
To put the gentle frustration of the Baltimore city and north crew in perspective. It is 11 miles from my house to Ellicott City. 5.2 inches for my house, a little over double 11 miles away.
It just didn’t work out for us this time. Hopefully next time we do better. I ended up 5.2. Frustrating given how close we were to much more, but also, could have been much worse in terms of far less snow.
I guess? Not really for me in Balt city. Two sloppy inches that melted hella fast. I sure don’t count that as a jack.
For Chill land to be at 11.4 and my part of Balt city at 5.2 is a crazy difference over a short span of land.
Just went for a walk - really lovely out with the snow falling even though the heavy stuff you all are getting isn’t here. Still hoping a band gets here and then pushes up to Mappy and Hoff.
I think the banding is here in Balt city finally. Snow accumulating again - will push me over five inches at my house, hopefully more if this can keep up for several hours.
Literally just how the storm played out. And we are lucky it wasn’t a hair further south or we would only have an inch or two rather then 4-5. We actually really maximized with a system that we were never flush for.
4.5” so far - really crossing fingers for another 1/2 inch to get to a verified storm warning...
...i will probably mentally call it verified even if we don’t.
great event to hopefully get things going.
4 inches north Balt city. Given radar, this will easily be the first legit warning criteria snow for my zip code since the huge January 2016 storm. Almost three years between verified warning level storms - this is truly welcome.
