  1. I just found my new favorite website… snow-forecast.com Here is their most recent update: SNOW NEWS UPDATED 29 JUNE 2022 INTRODUCTION After the big June snowfalls first in the Andes then Australia and finally New Zealand, over the first three weeks of June, the past seven days (the first of full wintertime by both astronomical and meteorological measures in the southern hemisphere) have been rather quiet for most ski areas around the world with just light snowfall, if any at all, reported for most. That said at least some fresh snowfall was reported on all six continents, up high in the northern hemisphere of course. The biggest snowfalls reported though over the past seven days have been in South America.
  2. Good thing that I’m not in the Outer Banks this weekend! I feel bad for all of the holiday week vacationers down there now. 3. My dew point is holding steady at 70. At least it is mostly cloudy here now so it’s not too bad out there yet.
  4. It’s never too early for Winter speculation!
  5. We can do this…! Before you know it, it will be time to start reading Winter previews.
  6. I’ll bet @canderson would take everything except for the wind!
  7. The best thing in that CTP discussion to me is part is that “comfortable humidity” is on the way after today!
  8. Here is more from the CTP discussion. As the air becomes very warm during the midday and afternoon hours, expect scattered strong to severe thunderstorms to develop across the southeast half of the state, along and ahead of the front. Clearing skies, dry weather and lower humidity will move into the northern and western part of the state during the mid to late afternoon hours. The rest of the holiday, including the Fourth of July will be pleasantly warm with comfortable humidity as high pressure builds over the region.
  9. We definitely had at least a light shower overnight, but nothing measurable in my rain gauge.
  10. The good news for me is that we have less than 2 months of Met. Summer to go!
  11. My current dew point is 70 in Marysville. This is truly my least favorite weather of the year….and it is not even close!
  12. CTP seems confident of storm chances today. Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service State College PA 459 AM EDT Sat Jul 2 2022 PAZ036-056>059-063>066-030900- Franklin-Perry-Dauphin-Schuylkill-Lebanon-Cumberland-Adams-York- Lancaster- 459 AM EDT Sat Jul 2 2022 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Pennsylvania. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds 60 mph or greater and large hail exceeding 1 inch in diameter are possible this afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches and minor flooding of poor drainage areas is possible where a few storms impact the same locations.
  13. Yes, very nice with the low humidity once again.
  14. I would like to take 4th place in the Summer Thread post count standings and knock @Voyager off of the leaderboard! How can you find out how many posts that you have in a thread?
  15. Our local Marysville pool was closing early at 5:30 today due to a lifeguard shortage.
  16. That’s great! Only 3 months until we can start looking for our first frost around here.
  17. Lol, I agree. I lost track of my mow count long ago..lol!
  18. Yes indeed! Perfect Summer day with low humidity and temps near 80.
  19. I ended up with 1.4 inches of rain today between 2 rounds of showers in the late afternoon and early evening. I will probably be mowing again in a few days.
  20. Give it a few minutes… I have had .81 of rain in the last 30 minutes and it continues to pour in Marysville.
  21. In terms of local weather, it looks like there is a decent chance of thunderstorms this evening per CTP.
  22. My family and I had a great time in the Outer Banks! The weather was mostly beautiful with high temps in the low 80’s with low humidity. We had showers one evening but the main weather issue was the wind on 2 of the days at the beach. We had some beach umbrella issues those days. I was thinking of @canderson cursing about the wind! We really enjoyed all that the Outer Banks region had to offer with the beach, the dunes and the nearby historic Wright Brothers and Lost Colony sites.
