C’mon Luke, I’m certainly with you on it probably being nothing much of anything. This season hasn’t been good for us for sure. But there have been big changes from 24 hrs ago at this time with this thing. I really didn’t expect that to even happen. This does have some large scale features going for it, and If it continues to steadily improve over the next day or even two, then we don’t need huge changes all at once being we are still 4 full days away.

I’m talking about the 500 mb. Let’s be real here, this is probably not gonna do much if the tenor of this season continues on into this system. But the 500 mb/upper level has steadily improved last night, and all day for the most part. If that continues..the surface will respond accordingly. We all know that. So we see what happens tonight and tomorrow.

I thought so too, but then I was seeing some folks saying it was worse, so I was like, I guess I must not know what I’m looking at? Good to know I wasn’t hallucinating after all. That 500 mb that Brooklyn99 posted looked significantly better to me.

I’m no pro by any means, but that looks like a significant move to me. Trough sharpened up pretty nicely. But maybe I don’t know what I’m looking at?

Well to be fair the NAM looked very explosive, and so did the Reggie still. Taken with the grain of salt of course.

Euro isn’t what it used to be at all…it doesn’t do what it used to do either, so imo it’s not even the same model anymore, so we can’t apply the same things to it that we used to. Energy still isn’t sampled at all…so still much to figure out over the next day or two. But I m with ya, I’m sure something will come along and muck this up soon enough, and it’ll be “ahhh dam this could have been awesome if it wasn’t for the saggy boobs, or that scooter sh*t streak etc etc. I’m just waiting for that to come.

We’ll I guess what I’m saying, along with Ray and Scott too, is that this can easily come west plenty in the time that’s left. It’s not a big stretch. However, Will it? With the way things have gone this year, I don’t think any of us can see it, cuz something always goes wrong. So we certainly don’t expect it to at all. So I think we agree there.

We’ve been snake-bit this year for sure it seems, but the ground to make up is not that much in 4 days time at all. This “could” come west quite a bit in the next couple days quite easily if this thing phases efficiently. Of course I’m not saying this happens being the way things have gone so far this winter, but that’s not too hard to do in the time that’s left with this potential.

But at this lead that’s where we want to see the improvements. You should know this…

100% agree. I was thinking the same. Who really cares if the surface didn’t respond just yet…we are still a moderate ways out, and the 500mb was significantly improved. I think that’s all you can ask for at this lead, especially for the Euro.

Assuming we get a storm, are we talking sun night into Monday? Or more a Monday deal?

That model is so erratic…it’s really not even usable in that regard.

Ya…I don’t think I’d be putting too much stock into an op run 9-10 days out.

When’s this big warm up? As of yesterday it wasn’t looking all that warm?

Well I mean is there anything showing some legit promise currently? I don’t know of anything showing this going in the right direction at the moment. I would gander that’s why it’s dead. Let’s get something somewhat reliable, showing something positive, and I’m sure it would liven up some. But right now it’s DOA.

Northern Maine snowing nicely currently, 5-10” new when all said and done up there tonight. They are buried and getting deeper every few days. The President’s day weekend is shaping up to be epic up there in a couple weeks.

Ya the older rev two strokes were oil hogs for sure. Etecs are all different…although most are very good on oil. But I’ve seen some that use more oil for whatever reason? My buddies ‘18 850 is a lil better than my ‘21 850 is on oil, but mine is still dam good. And they’re both incredible on gas for such a powerful sled.

Oh wow that’s gonna be so dam awesome. Lots of dealers on that trek for you to grab oil, but if you have the LinQ caddy you can carry it. But that probably won’t be necessary.

All depends where ya go. Been at it over 30 years, and it’s not a waste at all if you get your moneys worth each season. I take 3 good trips each winter(once in a while I’ll do 4 trips), 4-5 days at a clip(includes the weekend/long weekends), and believe me I get my fill. Where I go season is not short most years. And conditions are almost always fabulous.

I feel for ya bro…that’s a bad season of sledding that’s for sure. My heart goes out to you as a fellow snowmobiler.

Ahh man that sucks. Been to N. Maine twice, will be heading up in two weeks. Have about 800 miles on the sled so far this season. They’re in fantastic shape up there, and have been since MLK Day.

It’s been a shitty snow season so far for most outside of eastern areas, but we’ve had some good solid cold, that’s for sure. That wreaks havoc on the roads/pot holes.

What happened that March? Big snow? Or big warmth?
