You and I will never agree on any of this Luke…that’s why I suggested take all this to banter…but folks are refusing to do that. And all of this has everything to do with soft on crime…that’s the root issue. And no one is suggesting an authoritarian state at all. But The police have systematically been defunded, and their power has been decreased to a frightening degree. If you’re gonna state your points, and make your comments ..I will state and make mine. But again, we will respectfully disagree on this whole idea. I will not respond any further on any of this. I feel very badly for Lewiston, and for Jeff, this is absolutely horrible.

Horrific. This country has got to get very tough again on crime….give the police all their power back, and all their abilities back. If not….then unfortunately the Wild West will be making a big come back.

This was what I was saying last night….he doesn’t have to be mentally ill to do this.(in this case it sounds like he quite possibly could be), but as that study shows, most times mentally I’ll people don’t do these types of things. And I agree. Perhaps we just keep our personal opinions on all of these things to ourselves, and just hope for the best, and that this suspect is caught very soon. If you want to talk about guns and mental illness, better off taking this stuff to banter. And keep this thread for the latest news on this situation, and of course the weather.

I hate SM. But Police are there, so the point is they thought it serious enough to check it out. So when I posted that an hour ago, it was accurate.

I guess the police thought the risk at the hospital was credible enough to go and check the hospital. So it was a legit idea about the hospital after all.

Police at Lewiston Maine hospital now, going in to see if he’s in there…helicopter above hospital.

We don’t know the reason yet…I’m sure he has a reason, but he’s still on the loose. Obviously there’s no reason that justifies anything like this whatsoever, but he may be on a vengeance rampage…and not insane at all…but consumed with revenge and Evil?

Some folks are just evil…and that’s all there is to it. No rhyme or reason.

Now the news says he might be doubling back to the hospital, to do in the wounded he didn’t kill…hopefully that’s not the case.

I love the sound of that. I’m certainly thinking average is a good estimate at the moment. But ya…we’ve taken it on the chin WOR, and the last two years have been lean to say the least(last year the worst ever).

And That was a great winter incoming/enroute that year….2010-2011.

The sad part is, Will you were born far too late to witness ‘78(I was 9 at the time..turned 10 a month later). It was the real deal everywhere in SNE. What a total beast. Feb 2013 delivered something very similar for me here…more snow accumulation in ‘13, but winds were still longer lasting, and bigger drifting in ‘78. Both were absolutely historic. Both ‘78 and Feb 2013 closed school for a week in town here also.

Well it looks like now it’ll feel like deep autumn on Halloween…kids better bundle up.

Not angry, but just for perspective, you weren’t enjoying golf in the winter in ‘13, or in ‘14, or in ‘15, or in ’18, or in ‘21. And perhaps you were golfing during and after the blizzard that buried you with 30 plus in ‘22? So I mean let’s be real too. Yes, last year winter was non existent for most of us in SNE(except Hubby and Ineedsnow), but that’s not usually/always the case.
