  1. Ya, something cooling you off there.? No marine influence here.
  2. 830” …that’s 69 feet. WTF? Hard to even imagine.
  3. Lol…what is funny and ironic is that it wasn’t long ago that the mantra was they’d never recover…it was gonna become a dust bowl/drought region. Funny how it all seems to balance out after all…
  4. Snow in the morning ..rain after 1pm is what they’re saying at the moment. No worries…we’ll get Thursday and Friday in..anything is a bonus at this point.
  5. OMG…stop. It won’t be like this year…bet on that. It couldn’t be any worse..can only go up from here, that’s the good news.
  6. I’d imagine We don’t want a strong one…
  7. The consistency is also mind boggling..usually a very long lasting pattern may last 4-5 weeks(this has been 4-5 months plus. Just astounding in that regard.
  8. Hopefully next year we won’t hear that nowhere near as much as this dreaded RAT.
  9. What’s a snorecho? Like Derecho?
  10. Ya I didn’t see where it said seasonal snowfall? Maybe it did but I didn’t see it.
  11. Ahhh ok. Yes.. I’m at 12.8” on the season. So that would be correct. Thought it was snow pack. Thanks for the clarification.
  12. Lmao…ya I was like what’s that garbage? Had 5.5” on the ground for about a half a day back on 2/28. That was the extent of the pack.
  13. Not so green here…but the south coast is a different world than here this time of year. Then when it gets warm(potentially next weekend)..stay away from the south coast(10 miles or so), or you’ll freeze your ass off. Told my buds that many times on our Harleys to not go to close to the coast…in April and early May..cuz you’ll freeze your balls off.
  14. I’ll be gone..come home the next day…but it looks great.
  15. Great post. Yes I’d have to agree with everything you said. It was a great place to grow up, and it still is as you said. And yes, it can be plenty wintry and extreme here when the storms come in and track right. Ya Feb 13 was incredible…30-40 inches in this area. Imo, it was that storm(Nemo Feb 13) that was the equivalent or even then some to blizzard of 78 here. Nemo had more snow, but ‘78 had bigger drifts. But both were incredible and extreme events…so memorable for sure. Glad you shared that you grew up here.. And yes…the food/restaurants in this area are superb. Many to choose from and most are really at the top of their game. It can spoil you. I love NNE/Maine, especially where I go sledding, but as you said, the restaurants/food can’t even hold a candle to this area..it is a disappointment in that regard. But it’s all trade offs in the end as we all know.
  16. Lmao..I tried to use little in my follow up post.
  17. Oh ya I realized that….your place looks gorgeous. And yes, much larger for sure. was just commenting on the close local idea…so fortunate in that regard. Wow…I didn’t know you were familiar with this area. Actually Mount Southington is bigger and a little more expansive than powder ridge…but they’re both great little local spots. Mount Southington actually has quite a good ski race team and following.
  18. Looks beautiful. We have a local ski area in our town too…can’t beat the convenience, and we grew up with it, and the town(and surrounding towns) still love it. Everybody learned to ski there in our town. So many good times they’re growing up. So I can understand what you mean completely. Ours just closed this week…they had a dam good year despite the horrid winter here. I’m glad for them.
  19. This was overnight Thursday night when they got the 6+ inches..grooming and looking superb. Been snowing all day today..they’re expecting about 10” when it’s done. So ya…it should be dam good.
