  1. I maintain we always start ahead of schedule on these WAA events
  2. Yellow is incredible. I work at Albi, the chef's fine dining restaurant. Come say hi.
  3. What an absolute mess this would be if it verified. I do not like the ZR at all this run
  4. I noticed we have some light virga making it into LWX radar zone. I feel like often these juiced WAA portions always start a little earlier than progged.
  5. If anyone is looking for a good, free national radar I like this: https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=continental-conus-comp_radar-24-0-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined
  6. And just like that Randy's forecast from early this week is confirmed.
  7. We get a seriously insane amount of sleet from 18z-21z. Like .5" of QPF
  8. Incredible run honestly. DC gets about .1 more QPF vs 00z through 1pm
  9. DC up to 7" by 10am Sunday and still ripping on HRRR...tho we're about to flip
  10. I mean you can just take a look at the radar and it's obvious that's sleet falling all through southern OK.
  11. I, too, dabble in the art of radar hallucinating.
  12. Ukie flips DC to plain rain on Sunday evening lol
  13. I work late and I stay up super late anyways so I'm just gonna pull an all-nighter so not much of a decision to me. I just really think the early morning hours are gonna be the best snow rippage of the storm by far.
  14. I have the worst feeling I'm gonna be jebwalking at 4am tomorrow morning and I'm gonna start feeling sleet. I think I have DC snowstorm PTSD
  15. Just think of it this way, it could be worse. We could be sleeting and it could be 32 degrees at the surface.
  16. I think the idea is if we get rates enough the airmass should be cold enough to overcome a slight warm layer. Whether that works in reality is another matter, I've found in these situations around DC at least if we get rates with a warm nose it just ends up dumping rimed-out flakes. But this airmass is far colder than most any we get around here so who knows if that'll make a difference in this case.
  17. Exactly where I want to be 10 days out lol
  18. FWIW LWX is also predicted a not-insignificant amount of ice accretion for the metros-SE
  19. Truly the best storm I think I'll ever experience.
  20. 12+ hours of dumping at 18 degrees what's not to love?
  21. Yeah but NWS counts sleet accumulation as snow accumulation.
  22. If we get 8" plus tons of sleet and temps not hitting freezing all week...wouldn't shock me if most systems are closed most of the week.
