    All I remember about that storm was that insane band that hit NYC and having to hear all about it on Eastern.

    "Snow and sleet before 1pm, then freezing rain and sleet. The sleet could be heavy at times. High near 25. Chance of precipitation is 100%." I don't think I've ever seen a "heavy sleet" point forecast before. Lovely.

    I'll never forget the pouring sleet during PD2. Given we already had like 20" on the ground but it was something. I'm really excited for this storm just on sfc temps alone.

    I'm interested in just a purely weather standpoint of how this is gonna play out. We basically never see heavy snow at these temps let alone dumping sleet at 20 degrees. The QPF, the cold, all of it is really kind of unprecedented in the metros around here.

    I'm guessing pivotal 10:1 includes sleet and Kuchera does not.

    I remember that storm well since it was my senior year of HS and we got an entire week off of school or close to it. Just concrete glaciers of sleet. It was really unlike anything I can remember around here.

    We always overperform these setups I feel like. This is quite literally our bread and butter for stacking snow in DC. I don't even care about the mixing at the end honestly.

    For me it's easier to swallow a mix when we get a foot+ of cold smoke right before and temps are in the teens for the duration.

    It's pretty much a fact of life that we get a period of sleet/lull/both with a bombing coastal on these HECS. It's just the price of doing business in the DMV along 95.

    I know it's a silly point forecast but how often to we have that high POPs this far out plus highs barely out of the teens. Gotta be a strong signal.

    It's really the ideal setup for DC snow. We need that overrunning to really pump up our storm totals before the transfer. Feel like I had like 15" of overrunning in 2016 alone.
