  1. Euro looks a bit better for areas of C and W CT into NJ and NYC, im gonna laugh if the city gets more than me.
  2. OKX sounding a little worried, def low confidence fx. The other challenging factor is the transition back to snow across the area on Wednesday. Using a consensus approach, this changeover occurs across the Lower Hudson Valley and interior NE NJ during the late morning hours, then works east in the afternoon and evening hours. A changeover to all snow is expected across much of the area by midnight. Timing of this transition in conjunction with the deformation zone will be key to the amount of snowfall that falls across the region. There will likely be significant differences in snowfall amounts over short distances. Forecast amount changes are highly likely as this event unfolds.
  3. NEMO was a veritcal band pivoting over central CT. The only thing similar is that it's S+ but probably nowhere near 6"/hr. What's your current wx and snowfall total?
  4. Looks like sleet line stalled a few miles south of the boarder. Going to be quite the gradient in snowfall for rd 1.
  5. Looks like OKX banking on a big 2nd half for W areas. 6-12 total with 5-10 new. Prob end up being E areas.
  6. It looks like its washing out a bit near the boarder as i thought, NW CT looks all snow
  7. What you just said actually makes sense if you think about it, when theres a quick 6" they are out clearing highways and main roads to keep up so you dont see a plow on side streets for hours but when its like this .5" and freezing rain all you see is plows scraping the pavement because they have nothing else to do. Highways are probably just wet around these parts id venture to guess. But yeah they still shouldn't have the plow down on bare pavement thats retarded. Just salt and sand it?
  8. This has to be the highest totals for a Winter Weather Advisory i have ever seen in S New England. I know they're doing 24 criteria but damn, that still averages out to 10.5, threshold is 8.
  9. a bit less than i thought for rd one, but not by much. I based my map off of 1-2" for southern half of CT approx and 2-4" NW N NE CT. Then another 4-8 for you guys tomorrow in the hills. Rd 2 may over deliver and its also looking the focus is on E CT rather than NW CT. I'm awaiting the 00z suite and then make adjustments as needed. Probably end up sharpening the gradient a bit.
  10. Hows far northern and E CT doing, im curious where the line is. Enfield, Tolland, Moosup...
  11. at least half of that isnt real for you or me. It counts the first half at about 7-8" for us, and obviously we're only getting like .5-1 at the most. So cut that in half and thats your total, around 6-8.
  12. 0.4" Snow/sleet combo...jackpot! Not gonna even crack a half an inch on round 1, nice.
  13. Its back to sleet here now, gonna be a mess tonight. Thinking a lot of places lock in under 32 away from the shore.
  14. That's not really how it works, it's 8". 9" for Litchfield county.
  15. light freezing rain, less than 1" going to take a quick measure now.
  16. @JC-CT good point. It may just be the edge of heavy precip because it goes to almost nothing very sharply. However, everything SW of the purple line is sleet, reports from Meriden, Seymour, Bethany, Hamden, Bridgeport, Waterbury, Danbury confirm this. Do we have any reports from HFD N & W at the moment of sleet?
  17. It's moving quite fast atm, i imagine it will start slowing down/washing out a bit as it approaches the MA boarder.
  18. Sleet line slowed down for a while now its racing NE as Scott said. Most of litchfield is now sleet, anyone check in from there? Racing through HFD as the moment.
