  1. Is this your second? What brand?
  2. Same here. I just got up and slept really well last night. I feel like normal this morning. My arm is almost normal feeling too. The innate immune responses rages for about 24 hours then that’s it.
  3. More likely viral interference at work. Viruses don’t like to infect cells that have been infected, or are infected by other viruses. There’s been so much Covid circulating that cold and flu viruses haven’t been able to find many hosts, so the R0 has been non existent. Theres been 32 million cases of Covid in the US. We’ve been masking and social distancing for a year. If those two mitigation measures were what’s causing the decrease in cold and flu, it would have been more effective against Covid.
  4. Skylab was a boondoggle. I guess it did show we could put a station up. Other than that it was basically a failure. I remember when it crashed and burned.
  5. Did the whole team get them? I read where Cora said some of the Sox were getting them this week. I thought surely they would spread it out. What happens when they all get the second one and half of them feel like crap and can’t play.
  6. We won’t go to Costco anymore because they’re really militant over it. I know the few dollars we spent there don’t make any difference, but I don’t have to give them my money.
  7. My wife orders stuff off the app and pulls into the pickup spot. They load up the Expedition and she drives off. Never goes in.
  8. Damn right. Places like Home Depot and even Wegmans have said they don’t enforce it. My mom lives in a no mask mandate state. Big box stores and national chains there don’t enforce squat.
  9. I’ve been in Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Market 32, Wegmans, Cumberland Farms, local hardware stores, etc. Never had one word said to me by store personnel. Not once. We went to a local independently owned restaurant with another couple last weekend. Walked in without one, stayed 2 hours, and walked out without one. Once the state lifts the mandates it’s over. Except for federal property and airlines of course.
  10. As long as they don’t run out that same starter as they had last night. He was awful.
  11. There’s maskers and anti maskers here. We’ll never agree so best to just keep it more science based discussion and we’ll all get along better.
  12. It will never be gone. It’ll be endemic.
  13. I’m not so sure. Once the mandates are lifted, especially the indoor mandates, I think there will be some issues with maskers and non maskers. Conditioning is strong. Nobody is going to change their mind here. I’m pretty anti mask except in certain specific settings. The CDCs own publication says maybe a 1.5 % difference. Not enough for me to care really. But we’re not changing anyone’s mind here so best to drop it.
  14. Me either. Knock themselves out. Just don’t ask me too
  15. As soon as the mandate goes for stores I’m burning every mask I have. I didn’t go through what went through the last couple of days to keep wearing a face diaper.
  16. It'll take awhile for the PTSD and conditioning to subside.
  17. I got my second on Tuesday. I had the same experience yesterday as you have today. I still feel a little stiff and lethargic, but I'm 100% better. I figure by tomorrow ill be fine. So yea, 24 hours
  18. That was exactly what I experienced.
  19. People forget about memory. Circulating antibodies can decrease over time but when you see it again they can ramp back up. Same with memory T cells. There's a theory that measles, mumps, and chicken pox antibodies are so long lived because a person does keep getting exposed to those over the course of their life. Those virus' aren't eradicated. So you don't need a booster. Tetanus on the other hand is caused by a toxin from a bacteria. You don't "see" that very often, so you need a booster very 10 years or so. So why do we keep getting colds. Well, there's a good 200 plus virus' that cause a common cold. Also, the humoral and cellular immune memory system doesn't care too much about virus' that infect the upper airway, which is mainly where head cold virus' go. The innate immune system generally takes care of it along with an antibody response. The antibodies produced aren't long lived because the memory system doesn't have a lot of surveillance in the upper airway like it does in the deep lung. This is one reason I think people with mild Covid don't have long lasting antibodies. The virus only infects the nose and throat and never gets in the deep lung. Just a postulate on my part. Nothing to back it up.
  20. Slept a little rough last night but no fever this morning. Still feel a little stiff and the sore arm is still there, but not as bad. Overall I feel pretty good. Got up a half hour later but still drove into work in Cambridge.
