It isn’t as much the river as the complete lack of wind right now.  I think DCA will catch up.  I’ve been bouncing between 92 and 94 which is healthy for 11am.

brutal right now in West End/Foggy Bottom - 95/74

yeah somehow missed that one. just saw NAM MOS is 91 which seems about right. not sure why it would be all that much different than today. have had a fair amount of clouds today. NAM MOS also has 85 for Friday... we're having to earn this one.

if we only drop to 75/76 tonight, maybe we get a boost.

The DC heat streak is totally weak. It has actually been pretty nice so far this summer. That may change next week.

for the immediate DC metro, this is the new normal for us from late June-Aug:

highs in the low to occasionally mid 90s
    lows in the low/mid 70s

it's basically a similar climate to the NC piedmont, but we are more humid due to our proximity to water.

I have no idea.  The rounding of the C temp is what really kills it.

yeah they should keep it as a double/float

anyways, we just had back to back 32C (89.6F) - could be getting there.

Yes, that ob is almost certainly an 89, so we will have to wait.

why can't they just report the initial F temperature reading?  Seems odd to convert it to a less precise scale (as an integer) and then convert it back to the now less exact F reading

IAD is sitting at mostly 88F and DCA hit 90 for a very short time per 5 minute observations. 2:45 PM to be exact.

my understanding is it is an ob recorded in F, then converted to C, then converted back to F for display.  So 89.6 -> 32C, could be 89 or 90 I guess?
