Pretty amazing to think that the snow falling in KC during the game is from the same storm we are getting.

Roads have completely caved up here just north of the zoo. I’m in a lyft heading to meet Deck Pics (Matt). . Probably wasn’t the greatest idea since my lyft driver can’t drive worth a shit in these conditions.
should've taken a bus or metro tho

Lol, what if the Euro matches the 12z NAM. I'd have to shut this place down.
this is kind of like how Jan 2016 was in NY - > the north trend just kept being better and better for us.

DCA finishes October 11th with a high of 83 and low of 70, making it the 5th straight day of lows of 70+ (a record for October).
It has finally dropped below 70F now for the first time since 10am on Saturday, Oct 6th. Remarkable.

2.19" on Sunday in West End, DC, with 0.19" on Saturday and 4.88" on Friday - that gives us 7.26" since Friday. Just ridiculous amounts of rain here since really May.

Dude Arctic sea ice is flat-lining in the middle of freaking January:
-
-
Some good data from one of our own:
It's kind of insane that over half of the days of 2016 set daily records for low sea ice. I mean, can you imagine if there were a particular station that recorded daily record highs for 200 days of a particular year? Alarm bells would be blaring far and wide...
Also, I found this graph PARTICULARLY troubling (from Svalbard, Norway):
-
Buoy close to the North Pole reported a surface temp of 0.4C at 1300UTC today:
Ice is getting slaughtered in this general vicinity:
-
This unprecedented warmth in the Arctic just continues and continues. Vize Island, Russia (which is at about 80º N latitude) has yet to dip below 0ºF. It's avg HIGH for December is -5ºF.
