  1. yeah that's super common out that way. Drive from C'ville to Crozet even. You see it in the valley a lot - Between about Winchester and southern Augusta County, you are slowly increasing in elevation. Sometimes you have rain turning to snow as you drive south.
  2. yeah I don't think i've ever seen that. Growing up in VA, I went to city schools but was in governor's school in HS for half the day, which was subject to the surrounding county schedule (and Augusta county has some folks living upwards of 4,000' as some folks on here can attest). So many times school would be delayed or cancelled when we would be fine. I don't ever remember them closing only some schools.
  3. 16.7F here - same. Kinda bottomed out around 9-10pm and then it stopped dropping.
  4. Canaan will probably still be like -25F or something lol
  5. yeah that was a once in a 100 year storm.
  6. 17.6F here with wind chills between 0 and 10F - temp seems to be steadying for right now.
  7. honestly if they can't win this game the entire coaching staff should be canned by the time the night game airs.
  8. yeah - that's pretty solid coverage.
  9. yeah I was thinking Boston kinda missed out (NYC nearly did).
  10. when really was the last one? 2010?
  11. yeah our streets caved - i doubt Wisconsin Ave did though. But yeah, at least we got something. Kids were happy (but played outside very briefly because it is not pleasant out lol).
  12. feel like the higher accumulations in northern MoCo will probably result in a delay.
  13. had to salt my sidewalk real quick before the city came to fine me lol
  14. Yep - we're at around 390' and got some accumulation. Looks like downtown DC and places close to the river got basically nothing.
  15. yeah i had to get the ice melt down quick - probably around 1.5" here (maybe closer to 2" - hard to say). Side roads were covered.
  16. 37 up here - must be a little cooler closer to the park.
  17. trend has been our friend for the city and points west
  18. that band is looking good for Mount Fort Reno here in the alpine region of NW Washington.
  19. at least dry air shouldn't be an issue with this one.
  20. it was cold again around Valentine's Day (DCA got down into the low teens, highs in the 20s).
  21. that was a weird winter, but still good IMO. For NYC - biggest snowstorm in history plus the last time Central Park got below zero. Still warm, yes, but those events save it IMO.
  22. uh no - that was one of the greatest snowstorms in recent history for the Mid Atlantic. NYC's all time 24hr snowfall.
