  1. 12.4F here, 13F at DCA. Could hit single digits overnight.
  2. my memories are of the 94 and 96 blasts (I was in late elementary school) - in the Shen Valley we got down to -10 to -15 during both of those events.
  3. yeah kids around here are just sliding on it. Sledding on this is basically suicidal.
  4. I took a hammer to some of it on some steps (that we rarely use), and it was like "lol"
  5. Detroit right now on ESPN just playing beautiful basketball. 45 points in the 1st Quarter lol
  6. let's see if they approach -30F
  7. you can literally just walk on top of the snowpack.
  8. yeah - it's not the coldest per se, but the duration of the cold at our location is very very rare.
  9. frozen river I think having an impact on DCA. They are topping out around 20F.
  10. yeah - it's cold today. 19.4F here, low of 10F (on the dot).
  11. DCA stuck around 19-20F. Single digits aren't happening.
  12. Is the Treehouse still there?
  13. I remember going into UVA, folks were like "UVA didn't even cancel classes during the Civil War!!" etc. Then, they cancelled classes for Hurricane Isabel, PD2, and a number of other storms over the next couple of years.
  14. After PD2 I think we missed like 3 or 4 straight days. Same as this stuff, they couldn't plow that shit (we got like 6+" of sleet).
  15. lol what a joke. DCPS is 2 hr delay (was today and tomorrow).
  16. 11F here as well (11.1F to be exact). Low of 14F at DCA. 23F both here and at DCA at this hour. DC might never get below zero again lol.
  17. i was busting my ass shoveling basically all day Sunday to avoid this exact problem while this lazy mf'er did NOTHING. Then he's able to get his car even into the alley because of my work this evening but proceeds to get stuck (blocking the rest of the alley) trying to back into his little garage.
  18. yeah I recall 94 - we were about -10 to -15F in Staunton. We were driving to Baltimore - the entire drive the temp never got above 0. The Inner Harbor was frozen over completely
  19. dumb mf'er who lives across the alley from me got his tesla stuck in the snow. See we live on a street corner, so our house is the closest to the street on the alley. So I shoveled out the alley up to the back of our house and shoveled out our concrete pad (so we could get out, plus my mom was in town until yesterday). He has a garage just a bit further up the alley and he didn't touch it (he didn't shovel most of the sidewalk in front of his house either - lazy POS). So I guess he was trying to back up the alley into his garage and got stuck sideways basically in front of his garage. Had to get a tow truck to pull him out.
  20. it was in the low 30s yesterday and I was like - damn, it's nice out!
  21. we'll see in DC - temps across the District right now are 18-22F.
  22. not that I can remember - maybe since the 90s.
  23. temps have leveled off here - 20F. They rose slightly at DCA, up to 24F. Single digits aren't happening tonight for the urban areas.
