  1. I'm pretty shocked we hung on to the westerly wind to get there. Usually the river wind takes over on days like this.
  2. This is the only 80F ever recorded between Nov 19 and Feb 20 (Nov 18 is the latest 80F ever recorded for a calendar year, and Feb 21 used to be the earliest).
  3. DCA just hit 80F. Good lord.
  4. lol loving that 92/90 ob - Dubai anyone?
  5. Back-to-back obs of 26C (78.8F) at DCA, I think we at least touched 79F.
  6. if we can get another 30 min or so of WSW/SW winds, DCA will hit 80. But that river wind will be tough to fight.
  7. lmfao 79 at DCA right now. Record tied (possibly)
  8. 76F officially at DCA. When the wind gets a westerly component, the temp shoots up.
  9. Like it's been a pretty typical January - seasonable. Everyone is pretty much at their expected snowfall for this point in the season. We've had some nice wintry periods. Oh, and how about blowing the doors off of some monthly heat records? Temps near 80 anyone?
  10. isn't it a bit unsettling to anyone that we've just creaked the door open a bit for warmth and we are blowing away monthly records?
  11. 59/59 right now on Tenleytown - serious snow-eater stuff. High of 65, same as DCA.
  12. Well I mean you shouldn't use it for that. Would we use Central Park to describe the climate of someone living in Orange County NY or something? No - it's the climate site for the city. But since these sites tend to have the longest/most uninterrupted/verified climate record, they are the ones mot often cited.
  13. The main issue with DCA is being right on the river - but that can keep it a degree or two cooler than the rest of the city just as much as it might keep it warmer. The optimal site is probably like the White House or some place in Dupont/Columbia Heights.
  14. i live in the highest part of DC and we are usually within one or two degrees, even at night.
