Yeah, it’s a far less concentration of people. If a kid goes out to play with friends it’s usually a smaller group of people than an entire cafeteria during lunch. There’s also less potential as middle and high school students swap classes, creating multiple opportunities for transmission.
Just our luck, 007; in NYC the Mayor bombs out in his bid for greater mediocrity and comes back to do his elected job and by gosh, his greatest accomplishment is to keep the Public School system open against the advice of his own City Council President and others. Even with an understanding of his, keep the schools open position, I still keep thinking of all the good intentions that famous road is paved with. As always ...

With an extremely heavy heart, I’m sad to say our 12 year old Wire Fox Terrier passed onto doggie heaven yesterday. He suddenly got ill on Friday morning and never recovered. He was an energetic 12 year old “puppy” right up until Thursday night so at least he didn’t suffer for months.
He brought us so much happiness and we will miss him dearly. His “sister” Scottish Terrier also misses her partner in crime. For those with pets, hug them a little more today.
Here’s a picture of him at our Deep Creek house in January.
They become our companions and forever loyal guardians, as we are theirs. I only wish more of us could absorb and demonstrate their capacity for unselfish love. “All dogs go to heaven” if indeed it exists, they are certainly there. As always ....

Perhaps somewhat related: https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2020/03/05/clickbait-weather-forecasts-social-media/?itid=hp_hp-more-top-stories_cwg-clickbait-410pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans
From the story:
On Wednesday, for example, a number of Facebook pages shared a forecast from the American GFS model showing heavy snow from Washington to Boston next Thursday, eight days into the future, when such predictions are not reliable. Other, more accurate models showed no such snow threat.
But with that shaky forecast propagating through social media, several meteorologists felt compelled to confront it.
“I will not buy into the hype. I will not post a phantom map,” posted meteorologist Justin Berk, who provides forecasts for Maryland on Facebook.
Extreme ideas or solutions should be treated as unlikely to occur unless there is strong evidence for them. That applies to hype about stratospheric warming events, extreme GFS snowfall forecasts, and extreme analogs.
The pushback from the meteorological community is welcome.

that is not what I said... "climate change shit is trying to move Philly to our doorstep faster than most admit ." is an opine and not a statement of claim to a 'new norm'..

Anthony, bless you, your resolve is unbreakable. I’ll try to keep that in mind as I avoid litigation by shoveling heavy slush off my row house steps. I hear you but like @gravitylover's suggestion.
Rutland has a great Amtrak station right downtown. That is our favorite area of Vermont, and Killington. Get up there and enjoy winter. While March is definitely more of a spring month for us, it is definitively a winter month up there most years.
Anthony, be aware, if you take Justin and Gravity’s excellent suggestion and if while/because your up there the NY Metro gets a significant snow, Feen will probably start a “ go fund me” page. As always ......

My dad did Army Reserve summer camp in the Watertown area. Usually a late August early September Two week period. I can’t remember exactly middle to late 50’s he told us that local weather folk back then told the post to get its shovels ready. I don’t believe the need materialized but it must have been a potent late summer cold air mass. He was stationed up there for weekend periods during the cold season. I remember him telling us some intense snowfall stories. Wonderful video and memories, thank you. As always .....

There's literally nothing there. A couple small towns, but wow it would be boring compared to NYC other than the big snows.
An undeniable reality point Brian but just maybe where Anthony is concerned the final words from a great Porgy and Bess song should hold sway; “Cause the things that I prize like the stars in the sky are all free.
