Going to be crazy windy tomorrow afternoon. Gusts up to 45 I bet for most of us.
-
It’s raining a little now. Booooooo.

Wasn't home for measurements today...asked my wife to do her best, she got an average of 4.5" from 3 separate measurements. Going with 4.5", that takes my season total to exactly 37". WAY more than I would have imagined going into this winter - I'm thrilled.
Been a great winter. A few big storms, some pack refreshes, just no real cold blast at all.

we're normally almost spot on. i have 33.5. Damn front street for the win
I might have added incorrectly in my head - I'll take a look at my notes later and confirm. If you had less I likely added a few inches accidently in my head.
-
Just came in from shoveling and measured 4" on the nose (maybe a 1/8" under but f it). I'm putting this down as a 4" storm and my season total is now a very very nice 36..6"

This was winters last hurrah. Was a pleasure fellas. Can never count out a March snowstorm here.

Rates are slowing down here but flake size is still substantial. Looks like a good 3.5" at least out. That was some impressive snow for about an hour and a half.
-
This is getting close to blowing past last week's two-part "storm".

I honestly didn't expect this. We have great rates in Harrisburg. And the reports coming from the guys west of us give me hope. My temp dropped 3 degrees since this started
I finally went out and just measured about 2.25". You measure lately? The rate + flake size the last 45 minutes means business.

Future radar for my location has it snowing here until about 4pm. Then the usual drying out that rides up the I-81 corridor commences. Which begs a question from me.
What causes that feature to take place so often? We many times dry out before other areas of central, eastern, and northeastern PA. It'll mostly be finished here but out to the west of the Susquehanna, snow will continue for a couple to a few hours.
Gotta be elevation dynamics, no? @MAG5035 is there any scientific meteorology behind this type of phenomenon?

i just shoveled at work. We're over an 1". good rates right now
You wrote this 15 minutes ago and I bet we're over 1.5" now. It's absolutely dumping.

These are huge flakes. Didn't expect that.

C’mon man...it’s not that bad around here. We have great outdoor activities..biking and hiking, skiing, boating, hunting/fishing. We have one of the nicest minor league parks in baseball. Yeah there’s some marginal people around but where isn’t that? And it’s a pretty safe place to live. Good schools and a very nice PSU Altoona campus. Great shopping , restaurants and taverns. Check us out some time. You’ll like it..lol
I’ve only been one night at a stay at the Ramada there for a work meeting about a decade ago. My room had a hot tub in the corner by the bed with mirrored ceiling and walls. That’s my only knowledge of Altoona outside the Curve.

There’s some beautiful homes up there. New home construction has increased in that area the last couple years. There are some nice trails and state game lands up there. It’s nice because you’re close to Altoona but in the wilderness of beautiful mountains, streams and picturesque sunsets
First time in history this sentence has ever been said with a straight face.

Can we discuss late February sun angle with warming temps on paved surfaces yet?

Yes, I know what it's called, but we could get a sunny day break once in awhile...
It’s brilliantly sunny down here. Windy and cold, but sunny.
-
February sun is doing its thing even at 33. Hearing ice break and fall and water running down gutters.

For all my bitching yesterday, ended up with 4.8” (2.1 in 1st round, 2.7 in 2nd) total. Puts me right over 30” for the season.
And next Wednesday might be in the mid 50s!

Our roads over home aren't bad, at all. Just a bunch of BS. my its my age showing i don't know. Hell even the post office calls mailmen back. people are getting soft. I remember laying in snow putting tire chains on my dads car so he could go to work. And we didn't have Carharts either. Damn guys call off work over this? Come on man! Sorry, i'll end my rant.
Someone forgot to have their morning Jameson on the rocks.

I just got a message, no garbage pickup. We're getting to be a soft society. a little bit of snow for gods sakes
Gotta be the ice on the side roads. They’re Olympic qualify rinks.

CTP says there is no part 2. Less than half an inch.
-
Roads are solid ice in Harrisburg. F zr.

It snowed here overnight. Wasn't much - appeared to be a dusting - but my driveway was covered when I woke up at 7:15. It then rained a tiny bit about an hour ago, and the melt is now going strong.
