  1. My oil burner guy discouraged me from going the Nat gas route on the boiler.
  2. It has for the last 63 yrs that i remember..............
  3. I had the same type of pin boiler before the new install of the cold fired one, It would run every time you used the hot water, Or if the water temp dropped in the boiler to bring it back up to temp, Already have realized a $750 saving in just the last 5 mos of having the new cold fired boiler with separate 45 gal hot water holding tank, Well worth the investment so far, Going from a 1gal/min nozzle to a .6 gal/min nozzle is huge too.
  4. Hmm, I'm curious to how the apple orchards did this year, Have not been to Wallingford's or Ricker Hill yet as I've been way to busy, Is that normal to have that much of an off year? Or waqs it because of the dry summer?
  5. The weekend may be an issue here, Temp has not got down low enough for a frost/freeze yet, I only have peppers and tomatoes left so i may just pick the remainder before the weekend.
  6. Wow, You had to wait that long? I went with Harvey Windows, Which are rated the best vinyl windows and i would highly recommend them, It was 3 weeks for the build, I had certainteed vinyl replacements from back in the 70's as well, Just about the time they had just came out, Not very efficient as they were drafty as heck in the winter, My bedroom was always cold and one windy night while at my computer i noticed the curtains moving and there was an 1/8" gap in the window and the cold air was just rushing in, Also went with a new cold fired boiler as well and have already realized a big savings on that in just 5 mos, The windows will absorb the sun in the winter and reflect it in the summer so i should realize added savings as well, My house was built in the 40's so we have been making steady improvements over the years but a big push this year with Boiler, Windows, Roof and Flooring. https://www.harveybp.com/

  15. You need 12/12 day/night for them to really bud, So yeah, A couple more weeks, And i like leaving them until first frost because you really shoot the nutes up to the buds to finish the flushing period, At least its been dry so the bud rot has been out of play.
