60/51°F out there today and OVC, Time to get acclimated.

The area i'm hunting in Wales is loaded with older Oaks, Beech, Birch, Maples, Pine and some Cedar's as well that have not been harvested in 50+ years or so, The owner is putting in a saw mill, Going to be doing food plots with hunting cabins, He has 150 acres that is all woodland, He's a Masonic brother and Shriner as well so he allows some of us to hunt his property as he's a hunter as well, Its my first time hunting there so its going to take me this year to figure things out but he usually takes 4 deer/yr there including his landowner permit, My truck looks like a matchbox truck........lol

What a fall stretch, 40°F for a low this morning, 60's for highs this week, Nothing better.

I think they run in cycles, But its real noticeable this year.

Was out in the woods yesterday scouting and setting up a game cam out at a new hunting plot and it is very dry in the woods, The amount of acorns on the ground is crazy as the wind would pick up they were dropping everywhere and their ginormous too.

I know, lol, We will hook up this winter though.

If i take one with the bow, I will purchase another for firearm season, There is more permits then hunters here, When i put in my application, The site asked if i wanted to pay for it at that time as was almost 100% guaranteed to get one which i did.

State of Maine lets you buy anterless deer permits for $12/ea if available after the lottery per zone, The zone i hunt had 13,810 , If you received a permit, You had until 09/12 to purchase it or it goes back into the pool and will be available on 09/17 for purchase.

I'm prepping for fall archery, Regular Archery Starts Oct 5th, The extended archery season started last Saturday up here in specific city zones because of the large population of deer, I'm ready to go, Looking to take my first one with my cross bow.
