  1. well they should work a lot harder... because i can tell you comcast stops just to my north. no one else runs hardware up this way other than comcast. if you're in the really rural part of the county, you aint getting shit for internet. dish network for tv and thats it.
  2. i dont know how local/state govt make companies like Comcast and Verizon put the infrastructure needed in places where it doesn't exist.
  3. good post! hope the girls first day goes great! YOU GOT THIS!
  4. Beautiful day. Windows opened, Mr Map is smoking some pork and the smell keeps coming into the house and it’s amazing
  5. rushed to pick up the kid at daycare, made it home just in time. phew.
  6. tornado warning in the cell north of Shippensburg
  7. weird, radar showing a rouge lightning strike nearby. didnt hear thunder...
  8. State College not messing with those warnings, almost hour lead time on them
  9. holy cow, no kidding. last i looked it was pretty tame.
  10. yeah, you aren't alone. ive heard similar from my group of friends. thankfully for us, the kid's elementary school has on site before/after care. the will be available if school is open. we made sure we had her registered for it back in June so we wouldn't be scrambling last minute
  11. I wish the State had tried to help to begin with, but he made it clear the counties were on their own. They offered recommendations, and left it at that. And now that counties arent doing what he wants, he's making it worse with last minute crap. Frustrating from a parent standpoint. JUST TELL ME WHAT IM DOING WITH MY KID.
  12. thats good, cause i didn't get shit out of that when it came south, so if i can get something from its leftover boundary, that'd be cool.
  13. WBAL was tweeting the whole thing and showed which counties were indirectly being called out. Only 8 in the state had no in person plan until January. The rest have some hybrid in place by end of October. I agree... schools had to make these plans months ago when metrics where higher but they should have at least had plans for hybrid and virtual ready to go by the August 14th deadline. So I get where losetoa6 is coming from.
  14. I know Balt Co has some out and said they would do what they could to rework plans. Which is promising, because if it can work and its safe to do so (THE MOST IMPORTANT PART) I would be okay with sending the kid back to in class, even if its a hybrid of sorts. But man, dropping that at the last minute is just poorly done. Dangling that grant in their faces is the cherry on top.
  15. rare morning MD for severe coming out of PA
  16. Right? I don't get it... I've seen many of teachers with their complaints Don't get me wrong, I want my kid back in the classroom too, and Hogan raises valid points -- our metrics are pretty darn good these days. But geez, talk about waiting until the 11th hour to ask they rework their plans. Don't some counties go back next week?
