I think it's more the risk of the heaviest going north and west of us and we end up with scattered showers like the gfs is showing

There were back to back months <1" in late 80 early 81 and a dry spring in 88 but both were followed by wet months so drought wasn't prolonged

BTW I forgot about the grass seed I planted a few weeks ago and barely watered. Somehow about a third of it grew
