  1. Its not looking good. I feel like we wait til after the 20th for anything significant
  2. clouds rolled in but still made it to 51
  3. I believe its still the only winter to have above normal snowfall each month from nov to april
  4. Interesting News from US National Weather Service Eastern Region HQ and NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information: As we remember the Blizzard of '96 which was 30 years ago this week, we also want to take a look back at the rest of the 1995-1996 snow season, of which the Blizzard of '96 was only a part of, especially in the I-95 corridor. This was for many at the time the snow season that would go down as the all-time snowiest ever, and in many cases, these records still hold 3 decades later. As part of the review process, we revisited the seasonal snowfall totals in many areas, and in some cases some data that was not part of the official dataset at the time was added within the last few months at some stations. Thus, this updates some records and as of today, the state seasonal snowfall record for any season for New Jersey is officially recognized as 122.0 inches at High Point Park for the 1995-1996 snow season. This is now considered the snowiest season on record at any station in New Jersey, breaking the prior record long held by the 1915-1916 snow season. To read the full report that explains why this was approved by the State Climate Extremes Committee for New Jersey, go to https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/monitoring-content/extremes/scec/reports/20260106-New-Jersey-Seasonal-Snowfall.pdf?fbclid=IwY2xjawPKM1JleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFGUVg2clo5WlpDNUxPVGNSc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHhOirwroeZZkBRsaF-pQR1x4KaequIFlPph93g7TC4Ojqyb7m6TSrgO-1Rx4_aem_hNtO9uFR3acAsgpjcquJ7Q
  5. I still remember the forecast the day before was for 1 to 2 feet for central and south nj and 6 to 10 for nyc. Of course nyc had that much by Sunday afternoon
  6. 2003, 2005, 2006, 2010, and 2021 would like a word. Most of those Jans were cold yes but saw relatively snowless first halfs
  7. At least gfs has a few storm chances in the long term even if not all that cold before the 15th.
  8. If January through March repeat what we had in December most would have 30 to 40"
  9. If its not going to snow no sense in freezing. I'll gladly take upper 40s. My pseg bill was over $500 this month
  10. Yeah it's at least double where we should be
  11. Plenty of years had good Decembers followed by cold and dry or mild January's before a backloaded winter. 2002-03. Even 00-01 didn't do much until 3rd week of January after the nye storm. Most years have a break of at least a few weeks
  12. I remember waking up and seeing the back edge clearing south nj and thinking it was about over. Thankfully it slowed and pivoted and we got 6 more hours of heavy snow.
  13. Most places that got over 2 feet did so in like 8 to 10 hours. Just crazy rates. And of course that sharp cutoff sw of Philly. Baltimore and DC completely skunked
