I phone. Says my post size is too large. As you can tell I'm a novice with tech. 

16" now. My dad to the northwest in Towaco has 18". Still snowing out this way. 

14". Measured in 3 spots. Still getting raked. Lost power at 3:30. No much in the way of wind down here.

Going out to measure now. Eyeballing 12" from inside. Just lost power. Going to fire up the pot belly. 

Measured 7" at 2:00. Absolutely ripping. 

The main observation page is brutal. Every tricking storm it's the same panic. It's like group-think, reverse psychology. It takes the fun out of the storm. 

With that said, heavier echoes are approaching my area from the south. White pines are loaded up already. Here we go.

I don't think I suggested pouring it over the windshield. Only the lock mechanism/handle.

Try boiling water? Maybe some will get the lock warm enough to open. 

I'm at 10. Definitely "feels" colder than any other night. Skies are crystal clear,  should radiate well. 

A few minutes late on this, but there was also the fabled "Polar Vortex" of January 2014. I am still dealing with the aftermath (by dealing, I mean thankfully busy) in defending multiple lawsuits arising from slip and falls to property damage claims due to freeze ups and pipe bursts.

Someday, I will get out to the Black Hills. My great-great grandmother is buried out near Lead, South Dakota..she died giving birth to one of my great grand fathers siblings around 1900. They had been living in the area since the 1890s.

After her death, my great-great grandfather moved back east to Elizabeth, NJ. His descendants remain in North Jersey. 

I came across an old photo of them in a conestoga like wagon, simply incredible to me. 

I've noticed color down this way as well. At first I thought it was due to stress, but we've had a very wet summer season; so I guess disease is possible but unlikely.

We've also had quite a number of nights in the 50s. Hopeful for another great year of fall colors, the past two have been stellar.
