  1. You had no idea? You really should follow the national weather service. " Still expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms today as a cold pool aloft nudges closer to southern New England. Decent instability in most model outputs with most unstable CAPE values between 1,000-1,500 J/kg. Shear values of 20-30 kt and fairly straight hodographs suggest more of wind threat. Wet-bulb freezing level is projected to be less than 10 kft, which also suggests that some hail "
  2. Yeah they look pretty decent. So weird seeing them coming from the northwest.
  3. Looks awesome. But beware, the torch is coming! Or so some say. But they've been saying that since beginning of August...
  4. 30? https://youtu.be/pbr8nCboZ-k?si=W6Oir1w2m9S7yw6c
  5. It's tough. I think people always tend to overestimate . A 30 mph wind from calm is pretty impressive.
  6. Daughter's doodle wants no part of it.
  7. Best gusts I've had all year. Finally!
  8. Dew point up to 63. Today you can feel it. Just as I can feel the yellow jackets So much for that theory. Got stuck right on top of a nest. Log in front and rocks behind. Couldn't back the trailer up fast enough without them being all over me. Had to carefully cut the log and rodeo mount the ATV to minimize the damage. Some days just suck...
  9. 1) That would defeat the purpose. 2) that doesn't look like much of a torch and August is over.
  10. I've been searching the charts and I still can't find the torch. When is it again? "Cooler/drier conditions settle in behind a cold front by the middle of next week"
  11. Scary stuff. I've had lots of butterflies and the monarchs have appeared the last week or so but the insect population is definitely down.
  12. I had white faced last year but haven't seen a one this year. And very few of those black wasps that like eaves
  13. Those are actually pretty good theories. Although I doubt the late blooming year. Life cycles are hard to change. I'm sure you'll see plenty on the rim of your beer can come September.
  14. So when is it again that we get the torch? August looks pretty much done for any hot weather. AWT
  15. Something worse will take their place. It is how the world works now.
  16. I've only killed one nest. It was pretty well stocked though.
  17. It's hot? Where are you? Beautiful here 82/57.
  18. Sucks to be you. Haven't had rain in days. Glad we don't live there.
  19. Snuck up to 60 here. Didn't even notice.
  20. 59/56 the very pleasant weather looks to continue. Dry and very pleasant weather continues today. Another round of scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms, is expected Thursday. Dry weather likely returns Friday and may linger into Saturday, especially across RI and eastern MA. Then a frontal system may bring scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday through Tuesday. Probably not a washout
  21. Don't forget to turn on your humidifier tonight. Don't want your skin to dry out. What a stretch!
  22. Happy folks out grilling and chilling this evening after another beauty. Looking forward to a beautiful sunset and another week of seasonable temperatures. Doesn't get much better.
