Today is looking nasty.
Expecting the warmest day in this stretch of the heat wave for many
locations across southern New England. Aloft have WSW flow bringing
in 23-25 degree Celsius air at 925 hPa! Expecting the mid to high
cloud cover to not move in until late in the day, so have once again
gone with the 90th percentile of guidance for high temperatures
today.
Excessive heat likely with 590+ dam ridge just off to our west. Both
deterministic and ensemble guidance offering low to mid 90s Mon and
Tue, as 925 mb temps soar to +24C to +25C! Merrimack Valley could be
the hottest location with downsloping WNW winds. Heat may briefly
break (especially eastern MA) late Tue or Wed with potential
backdoor front.
Blistered napes.
I think you'll see a big difference in a couple weeks. I found myself standing on the social distancing line at the store today. Not that I was worried about anything, just that I was used to it.
