The young stars continue to disappoint. I don't know what is wrong with Adley but something changed around the allstar break last year. I'll give Henderson a break for another few weeks.

Os are 0-5 when Morton starts. 9-7 with anyone else. Time to move on from Morton. I'm assuming we will be subjected to atleast another month of this. Maybe more.

After seeing Elias's deadline deals last year and this past off-season what gives any confidence things will be better next year? Or the year after? He obviously knows how to scout and draft talented position players but what has he done with it? I thought he was going to follow Houstons blue print, but that stopped when it came time to pony up real money lol.

What pisses me off the most is you've got all these Youngs guys making basically league minimum and Elias isn't willing to pay an ace. There was some options out there this past winter. Including the guy in Arizona. You are right. Elias totally blew it. This is not a good team as currently constructed.

Starting pitching on this team is a disaster. You just can't win consistently with what there rolling out there most days

There roster is less talented this year compared to last year. We're heading in the wrong direction. I actually think their young position talent is a bit overrated. All high strike out/low on base % types. I don't think it's a coincidence the offense goes away in the playoffs when your facing the best pitching. And Mayo is wasting away in triple A. He either needs to be up in the bigs or trade him for a legit top of the rotation starter. What are we doing lol.

Crochet could of been gotten but you would of had to give up one or both of Mayo and Basiello and the Os would of never extended Crochet like the Sox did.

This era of Os baseball will be over before we know it. Adley through 27 and Gunner through 28. And that's if they don't trade them prior to there FA to start another rebuild. They peaked 2 years ago. It's unfortunate , but with Elias unwilling to spend big or trade the talent that's stuck at triple A for the pitching this team depserately needs this is what we're stuck with. I've already moved on from this season for having any post season expectations of this team.

I know the last couple weeks of games for the caps haven't meant a lot but don't like how there playing at all. Defense has been porus for weeks now. I know there resting alot of players tonight but it's been rough for a while now. Hopefully they can turn it on against Montreal next week.

Unfortunately he just can't stay healthy. Bradish might be back before him.

It's still very early but so far the current roster construction has multiple flaws from last year and none were fixed and in some cases got worse. All the attention is on Burnes leaving but O'Neil is not Santander. Santander was one of the few clutch hitters the Os had last year. They are worse in multiple spots. Oneill worse than Santander. Morton much,much worse than Burnes. Lacking at back up catcher. Worse in the outfield. This is looking like a 70 win team. This is on Elias no doubt.

Oh I agree. Feels like Elias took winning for granted.

Did Mike Elias actually think this Rotation is good enough to make the playoffs? Lol Awful Edit- The line up isn't as good as it is made out to be either. Too much swinging for the fences. Not enough situational hitting.

Glad to see Morton finally get through an inning without giving up runs

Unfortunately all the issues with the Os rotation is clearly evident the first time through. Everyone in world sees it. Elias dosn't seem willing to trade from an area of strength ( position players) to fix their weakness. ( pitching). Until Cowser broke his thumb they were probably going to have to send down Krstadt which is just nuts. The last 8 months or so has been mind boggling with Elias's trades and FA signing. They've already passed the point of being able to extend Gunner. Seeing KC jumping on extending Witt early and then Boston ponying up the prospects and then signing Crochett long term is really infuriating to me. Elias certainly is a great talent evaluater to draft and develop the position players they have but his trade deadline last year was a disaster.( other than Eflin) It's been downhill since winning the division 2 years ago. As currently constructed they seem to be an 80 - 84 win team. I know Financials are a different animal in the NFL but look at the Commanders. There going for it while JD5 is on a rookie deal. Your paying Gunner not much more than League minimum to put up mvp numbers but you can't afford a front line pitcher? Give me a break. I thought we were passed the point of signing guys like Kyle Gibson. Apparently not.
