  1. Loud sleety flakes in Fairfax at a light rate, expect things to pick up in about 20 minutes.
  2. Flurries in Fairfax last ten minutes or so.... hope we can hold onto the sleet for a bit longer than expected.
  3. Yes, IAD only goes back to like 1962 or something close to that.
  4. Bullish for DC. Also, why is Little River Turnpike treated like a highway on that map. Can't trust it.
  5. I'd not bother posting about Old Town Alexandria climo or conditions back in the day because the times I did and claimed profiles were going to be too warm despite the models, or it was 35 and rain when it was snowing in Chevy Chase, didn't turn out well. Either way, this storm isn't going to perform in my 'hood here in Fairfax. That's OK. I could drive to a family home in east central PA but I won't because I don't want to bother putting my winter wheels on my car. A positive of little snow here. Not worth it.
  6. Maybe this is the first time in four years I see some benefit from moving from near the waterfront in Alexandria City at 20' to just south of Fairfax City at 420'. I think maybe not, but will be interesting to see how this changes my perspectives on a storm like this. I still may be too far south and east just above the fall line but I'm counting on surface temps to help me here. If I were in still in Old Town, this would be 2 inches of slush expected.
  7. Definitely bad, I've been suffering a while, lots of eye issues, can barely keep my right eye open.
  8. Tracks with me near Bonnie Brae, accounting for losses during the day. At the end of the storm we had about 7 inches OTG.
  9. Just curious, what do you have on the ground right now? I'm near Robinson and only have about 7".
  10. Ever since my move out of the Old Town heat island, that area has been doing oddly better compared to the western suburbs. We got boned between bands this afternoon and evening... and we're almost surely done with about 7" OTG in Fairfax.
  11. We have about 7.5" on the ground here in Fairfax just south of GMU... we've been stuck in a dead zone for the last three hours or so.
