Finished up another shovel session before the games begin with another 1.3 in the driveway. 8.1” so far with some really heavy rates that just passed through a couple of minutes ago in Haymarket.
Wind has picked up and just finished another round of shoveling. Added about another 1.3” of sneet to my 5.5” of snow earlier. 6.8” so far and counting in Haymarket.
There is definitely some snow mixing with the sleet coming from higher up. I can see that even down here in Haymarket. I hear the pingers but there is also some real small flakes falling as well. At least that is what it looks like.
Just spent about two hours enjoying the weather. It has been a battle between sleet and snow that whole time. Currently more of just a real pixie type snow than actual sleet. Just about 5.5 inches when I shoveled the driveway. Still accumulating though.
Clouds cleared out just as the sun was setting on my evening run. Temp has dropped down to 37/31. Like the trends, maybe a boom of 2 inches in Haymarket. .
45/33 in Haymarket at 3:35. Not expecting to see any white on the ground tomorrow am. In my experience these setups usually do much better at least 75 miles north and east of here.
Just finished a final cut of the grass at a proper 2” and got the last of the leaves up. Snow can now fall on a perfectly manicured carpet. Beautiful moon rise and a crisp 36/22 at 5:10 in Haymarket.
I mean if you are looking for a reason…an hour of this could make the drive a bit more interesting but doesn’t seem to be sticking to the roads very well right now.
