  1. Yeah, the potential flooding as well. I was listening to NOAA WR ahead of the derecho and I heard, "moving east at 90 mph". It took a couple seconds before it registered.......wait, did I hear that right? Had to go look for myself. It's not very often you see those kind of speeds.
  2. Thanks. I shot that photo only a couple miles from my house. I headed out when the storm moved into Jersey figuring I had some time, but the southern part of that storm bowed out a bit and accelerated. I couldn't believe how quickly it was on top of me. I had to grab my camera and run out into the field before I missed it. I think that storm may have been topped near 40 kft, but I may be mistaken.
  3. Here's the second and the better of the two storms today. This storm really accelerated out of nowhere. I almost missed it altogether.
  4. Wicked! Looks like a wet microburst. A very, very wet microburst. lol That's a lot of rain.
  5. Finally a day with really good storms. Was able to photograph some epic looking storms during the day and now I'm on my way back from the Delaware Bay where I was able to get some night lightning shots (and some mosquito bites) of a distant (20 miles) storm. Feels like it's been forever.
  6. lol. I shot a quick video of the hail we got here and in the video I said, "Hail. We've got hail." Wonder if anybody will make the connection to Twister.
  7. Quick cell phone pano as I was getting blasted by winds.
  8. What a good storm! Non stop lightning and pea sized hail. It moved in so fast I got caught in it. Had to run through some thorns to get back to my car, have cuts all over my legs, but I think the photos will be worth it!
  9. Right in the path of it. Nice sea breeze approaching as well.
  10. Yeah, it's like walking outside and right into a wet cotton ball. Very Orlandoish.
  11. Severe storms are back in central PA. Heat is almost back to what is was earlier. 80F/DP 70F
  12. Temp back up to 76, dew point at 69. Rebuilding for the cold front.
  13. Well, the sun is back blazing, the rain is steaming off of the streets, and the dew point never went anywhere. Should recover some instability nicely, though it never really stabilized. Temp is 70F and climbing, dew point is at an oppressive 69F. Did end up with some trees down about a mile away from my weather station which only recorded a max gust of 40 mph. Must have been a nice little downburst.
  14. Some wicked winds in that bow. Not so bad down here. Heavy rains and gusts to 40 mph. Very little lightning.
  15. That's not something you see very often!
  16. I'm not sure that they're any more severe than other storms, but when the storms ride out ahead of cold fronts with the type of bulk shear and unidirectional flow that we have today, they can be longer lived and more widespread.
  17. Also hit a low of 43.8 this morning. Great weather.
  18. Saturday, too. Will be a little warm, but the dew point is going to plummet, which will be great. NAM was almost dead on. Had me getting shit and shit is what I got.
  19. Oh, it's ready and itching to go. lol Doubting I'm going to get anything today, though.
  20. Reached a 90F HI. Currently 83/74. At least we'll get some nice spring weather after today. Not a fan of skipping right to this summer stuff.
  21. It's in no hurry to move eastward. Almost at a 90F heat index. Muggyyyy
  22. These dews are nasty. Can't wait for this cold front. Currently 79/74
