  1. Kind of reminds me of mid April or around that time frame when every year like clockwork, a cutoff low either gets stuck just offshore or around the Great Lakes region bringing with it days of damp and cool weather while the rest of the country is getting baked and can hardly buy a drop if rain. I suppose this time around we can add another 15-20 degrees and of course, much more dankness to the surrounding air. I’ll let the unofficial board expert on this strange phenomenon, tip fill in the rest.
  2. Hello shrinkage my old friend..but yeah let’s try to keep those water temps in the 70-ish range for everyone’s sake, the family jewels included.
  3. It’s creeping back up baby. I for one will be saving plenty of water with the lack of boxer briefs entering the laundry pile in the coming days. No swamp butt for this guy..
  4. Yeah the seaweed was pretty brutal around low tide in chatham. I’m thinking the storms on Friday really turned up the water enough to spit some of that nastiness towards the shore. Either way, a perfect day for spending time outside, wherever you are.
  5. Glad we don’t live there. Us humble coastal folks still have many days of dews and sticky rear ends to go. And I for one am embracing every single moment of the glorious atmospheric sauna that has lovingly embraced us with its steamy splendor.
  6. I’ve been seeing quite a few earwigs, spiders and bunches of black ants popping up lately. That’s pretty much the most obvious sign of just how steamy it’s been as of late. Plus the moisture from recent rains always seems to bring the critters out of the woodwork. No matter which metric you use to determine the extent of dewiness in the land of humans, the animal world leaves little doubt as to just how swampy the air has been!
  7. Hey I personally wouldn’t be complaining about a coastal rain/interior snow setup for the rest of the season if it means preserving what’s left of my back for the near future. I look forward to seeing our little slushy inch of slop wash away with the stronger mid march sun angle. Instead I shall relish in the glorious foggy, drizzly, and damp days of the late winter and most likely early spring weather to come! It is almost inevitable for us coastal folks this time of year.
  8. 36f and light showers after a solid drenching overnight..the winter of yore continues! The winds are def starting to howl. Will def be interesting to see how the coastal flooding situation develops as the low intensifies. It’s gonna be a long, noisy eve!
  9. You all have fun with your pasty snow to the north and west. I’d be fine with not having to pull out the ol back shoveling inches of cement this late in the season. Of course us coastal folks still have to worry about trees and power lines possibly coming down with all this wind on top of very saturated ground. This rain has just been relentless for the last six or so hours. Talk about a persistent fetch of moisture coming up the south coast!
  10. Turkeys sliding all over the roads as drivers panic at the sight of frozen madness falling from above!
  11. Wouldn’t mind a nice 70 degree t-giving day tbh..throwing a frozen football around in several layers just doesn’t do it for me like running around in shorts and a cut off tee during a mid July cookout. This ol weenie just can’t tolerate the cold like it used to!
  12. I will embrace it fully when such a ridiculous anomaly finally happens, here on the moist coastal plain. As long as my damn leaves are raked in time!
  13. Yeah pardon my sensible weather bias right now but let’s try and keep some of that nasty, frozen slop away for at least another couple weeks or so. There’s still another round or two of dreaded leaf cleanup to take care of around these parts. Thankfully the biggest bunches are out of the way but those last dozen or so loads can be a real pain in the ol rump with frozen shizzle added into the equation.
  14. Yeah I did the same thing yesterday to a couple of those little buggers, couldn’t believe it! I wonder if there’s some sort of record on this board for the latest anyone has encountered a dreaded mosquito either inside or out. We must be getting close to record territory by now.
  15. Man it’s soupy out there..if you were to add a little more sun and another hour of daylight you’d have me thinking it’s late summer or perhaps mid spring. Days and days of sultry dews lie ahead as extended summer continues!
  16. Days of doom and gloom. Wake me up when we hit 70 again! This chilly and windy weather gets old very fast. What is this early April?
  17. I distinctly remember several Halloweens being in the 70s as a kid. So for now, we stay the course and keep the warm vibes going. Keep those acs crankin baby!
  18. What a seamless transition into dewtempber it has been and one that will soon be replaced by sweaty days of raking dried up leaves and tumble weeds in spooky swampasstober..what a glorious sight it will be!
  19. After last years pre-Halloween super nor’easter that took out dozens of trees in our hood leading to over a week without power and quite literally being stranded for nearly that same amount of time, I’m not too keen on experiencing any further destructive storms for the foreseeable future. Let’s just keep the moisture coming in reasonable amounts so we don’t end up looking like Phoenix come next spring. If it takes a little tropical system (Sans the destructive winds) to deliver the goods, then I’ll take that as well!
  20. Just steamy and warm out atm..75 to be exact with the usual low 70 dews. Wouldn’t mind a little moisture to wash away some of the crusty brown patches at the corner of the yard!
  21. Heck of a storm here..the winds were whipping for a while, heavy downpours you know all that fun stuff. But man that lightning is really something else, def caught me off guard on a couple of occasions. The poor dog can’t handle these types of storms, really gotta feel for the pets as they have no idea what’s going on. Nice shots btw kev and everyone else!
  22. Getting some good rain with plenty of booms all around. You love to see it! Keep it coming baby..
  23. Man haven’t seen a good moisture release like that since at least mid June..we def will take a quick 1” or so. Hope the love train spreads to more thirsty peeps here in phoen- I mean southern ne!
  24. Yep, about the same situation here. Winds were practically dead when I had the dog out a couple hours ago and within the last half hour we've had a couple rumbles of thunder, a quick downpour, and now the winds are blowing consistently. Those temps felt friggin amazing today..what a treat for early december. Glad I could get out and enjoy it before the door is slammed shut once again.
  25. Well all clowning aside, after last October's coastal cane which seemingly took out half the trees and lines on our street, I'd be okay with just a few inches of snow Christmas morning only for the inevitable afternoon slushfest to take its place. Ah yes, another Christmas of yore in southern NE..but yeah, tame/stable weather isn't always a negative thing, especially when you have all sorts of other responsibilities that take precedent. (ie blowing away the last few frozen leaves into the woods)
