  1. Loving these beautiful parachutes coming down with this final gasp. Just took these shots a little while ago and it’s just so peaceful out with the freshly fallen snow. Gonna have to go out one more time in the morning to shovel but I’m so happy this baby stayed all snow. What a great storm all around and one that was totally overdue for us humble folks on the coastal plain!
  2. That ocean snow keeps on tacking on to our nearly 20” total. It’s very cool to see how small the flakes are, especially compared to the start yesterday. Almost like little frozen sand particles. I’m sure the more well versed Mets and posters around here have a proper term for it but it’s those subtle little details I’ve come to appreciate more over the years.
  3. Very pretty snow coming down. Roads are def starting to get a little dicey too..time to sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
  4. I better get my extra servings of wheaties with whole milk over the next few days. This lanky sob is gonna need it
  5. Big ol deer out beneath the feeders pondering its next move.
  6. About the same here too. Those trees and power lines are really sagging right now under the weight of this stuff. Hopefully we can keep the lights and heat on until some of this paste gets shaken off!
  7. You just gotta rub it in! That island is gorgeous, was there several years back when the pats were last in the Super Bowl and the weather and people never disappoint. The views are just on another level too. Enjoy it man!
  8. Even as someone who prefers warmer, more temperate conditions I gotta say this snow is very pretty. If I didn’t have to worry about shoveling or getting it off the car, I’d say bring on several feet of this kind of fluffy goodness!
  9. Just about a half an inch of fresh powder here in the well. Best kind of snow imo..not enough to shovel but a nice little refresher for an otherwise gloomy landscape
  10. https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/boston-weather-wind-chills-temperature-massachusetts/ This would explain the chopper I heard circling overheard this morning. Thought I heard something come crashing down in the woods late last night. That wind was whipping like crazy!
  11. Sounds like the plot to the day after tomorrow. Who knows what madness the future holds!
  12. All gone here on the coast. Today should’ve been Christmas with the low fog and rapidly receding snow. It certainly looked and felt the part!
  13. I have this link saved to my phone as well. Almost forgot I had it favorited lol. It’s just a compilation of some of the music used during those golden years of the weather channel. I’m sure you’ll recognize quite a few of these pretty quickly. Enjoy! https://twcclassics.com/audio/years-2001.html
  14. Brutal stuff..not even our borderline feral cat wants to go out in this nut shrinking airmass. Great day and night to embrace the spirit of the season, hibernation!
  15. I vaguely remember driving home from school on a few snowy occasions that year when our usually stubborn superintendent waited until the last minute to let us out early. That must’ve been one of those wild storms where me and a few others spun out at least several times just trying to get out of the school parking lot. Thanks for helping unlock a fun memory from my crazy senior year.
  16. Exactly what I’ve come to expect on Christmas Day for about the past 15 years..we take!
  17. Yep, about the same here. This will probably be the nicest, most aesthetic snow we get all season and not long before Christmas either. I’ll take it, despite the fact I have to waffle my semi-hibernating tooshie out the door to shovel.
  18. My parents often told me how the mid to late 80s winters were more often brutally cold but without much snow to boot. It always killed inside as a kid too when we’d have periods of cold and dry weather and I just remember looking out the window in school desperately trying to find that one little snowflake descending to earth. It’s amazing how much of a boost that used to be as a little dude just trying to get through the day!
  19. Nothing will probably compare again to my morning classes at LSC in the dead of winter where the first physical sign of extreme cold was all the snot in my nose instantly freezing up after just stepping outside. I’m not keen on experiencing that again for as long as I’m around!
  20. Just a cold, wind driven rain event here..nothing out of the ordinary for early December in these parts. Beautiful pics from the snowbirds to the far north. The fluffy powder really does brighten things up this time of year.
  21. 57 and moist Actually feels great after the last couple weeks of chilly, dry ball numbing cold.
