  1. Meh by early-mid swamptober, we’ll be back to our usual deluges thanks to screaming nor’easters and stalled out lows by the Great Lakes. Embrace the relative calm before bratty kids and their bewildered parents are nearly blown away by another pre Halloween torch cyclone!
  2. Perfect night to curl up into a bed with 4 blankets until I wake up from a dream in the caymans covered in sweat.
  3. I live in a very swampy area myself so once dusk hits, I know 9 times out of 10 there will be skeeters just randomly buzzing around and a few minutes later, packs of voracious bats pursuing them. At least they’re slowing down a bit now but I’ve had a few bad bites on my shoulders and leg in just the last week alone.
  4. Iirc a good portion of that Feb was a straight up torch in much of sne with a few days topping 70. I remember taking the dog outside late at night and was shocked how pleasant it felt. I wouldn’t be totally surprised to see a few good surges of warmth next winter with the way things look to be setting up, at least south of Worcester.
  5. Now we embrace six months of cool rain, mist and fog with occasional breaks of torch..fun times lay ahead!
  6. So what would explain why our delivery charges are accounting for more than 3/4 of the bill despite usage rates remaining the same or even dropping in the last few years? Something ain’t right here..
  7. The summer season goes by way too fast, especially in this cut off corner of paradise. Why can’t we blow through the god awful month of January at the same relative pace as July?
  8. Can’t wait for 5-6 months of cool rains and wind-driven mists while powderdude posts pics of his buried snowmobile in mid March. Anyways, at least today is a beauty..gotta live for the present!
  9. That squall line along the south coast means business. It looks like parts of the cape are about to get a good hit with some gusty winds as well. It’s a shame we’re kind of wedged in the middle here between heavy bands.
  10. Getting a few pretty intense showers here atm..nothing too heavy but it really has that mid April look outside with the sky and intermittent rains along the coast. Def gotta feel for those who’ve planned cape vacations this weekend too. Hopefully many sweatshirts and buckets of popcorn are on hand!
  11. Did I just feel an actual raindrop coming down from the sky? Oh Lordy, get those dingies and rowboats ready..she coming!
  12. Yeah we need moisture very badly. This is no good for lawns, gardens and those of us with flaky skin. I’m rooting for any tropical systems to move in this direction in the coming weeks!
  13. So uh when are we going to get this hazy, smoky sky outta here? I can barely make out that little ball of happiness that’s supposed to be bright and shiny this time of year.
  14. Very interesting, although I wonder if the effects on sun intensity balance out the humidity levels somewhat. I def have some research to do this evening.
  15. If my memory serves me correct, I believe temps took a noticeable trend downwards after one final surge in mid August. I suppose it depends on what part of the region people are from too. For me, as long as the air still has that summery “feel” to it and am able to squeak out a few more good beach or fishing trips, then I’m a happy camper. Let’s hope for the best, dew and coc enthusiasts alike!
  16. Ok so it’s not just my imagination then lol. I wonder how much this low level crap adds to the humidity or perhaps it creates the opposite affect?
  17. Anyone noticing the sun and sky look a little off today? I’m betting we’re getting a little smoke or haze mixed in with this airmass from the west. It’s kind of reminding me of what we had in mid July but to a much lesser extent.
  18. It’s always laughable when peeps are so quick to write just this season off early when we still have the months of Septorcher, Dewtober, Mowvember and of course Grinchtember to come!
  19. Solar max or solar freeze your ass off minimum..this is still a great time to get out and keep that glorious nape going strong or perhaps get it going for the first time if you’re one of those unfortunate chilly loving punks!
  20. Same here..just the usual 15 mins or so of gusty winds from the outflow boundary and now back to our regularly scheduled sauna. These dews are really something man.
  21. Just chilling in the porch right now having a few munchies and it’s a total sauna right now. The cicadas seem to be taking it in stride though along with a few chubby toads camping out by the garden. All I could ask for now is just one quick boomer to top off the day!
  22. 90/72 These are the dewagers of the starship tollandprise.
