We take and bake. Any warm ups are massively appreciated during these cruelly short days. Totally looking forward to a solid soaking around here Thursday as it’s getting a little disturbing seeing literal clouds of dust flying around the backs of peoples mowers in this part of the country. -

Considering how low the sun angle is right now, this might as well be Orlando in mid Jan lol. It felt just insanely nice out there yesterday and I’ll take this weather just about any time of year. Maybe we can keep the love train going through t-day and perhaps into the early part of dec when the SAD is just about at its peak. -

Funny you mention that. I happened to stumble across a skinny snake as I was trekking the woods earlier and that little dude was staring right up at me. Tried to remember how the late, great Steve Irwin would handle that situation and slowly backed away. It was probably just typical garden snake basking in a sunny opening but it’s def not something you expect to run into this time of year. -

Feels like a late summer evening out there. It’s awesome but just a little strange when you remember what the date is. Which begs the question, what is our actual average supposed to be in light of these wild anomalies? Either way, I’m just embracing this surge while it lasts..it makes doing anything outside that much more enjoyable! -

63 here..we late august now! I’m really start to like this whole climate change business going on, sans the desert like environment of the Southern California that we’ve turned into lately. A few good soakers in the coming weeks would be fantastic. -
Probably chillier now than it’ll be in the middle of the winter season for much of the area. Thank the high heavens for some moisture coming tomorrow too, we need it badly! Starting to see a few dust clouds flying along the sides of the street lol.

Days and days without showers and baths coming up. We may have to learn to embrace our inner stankness in these trying times.
-
I’m sure we’ll see a few coming out of the woodwork on Christmas Eve, perhaps a few moths mixed in as well.
-
I’d take weather like this any day right up until the early spring..maybe add on another hour of daylight and some much needed moisture and we’ll be just about perfect! All in due time of course.
-
Glad we ain’t there!

Indeed and hopefully many days of chilly wind swept rain mixed in with the occasional warm infusion from the south. Ah the winter of yore never fails to disappoint!
-
Glad we don’t live there!

It’s great to see even just a small amount of moisture around here. My hand needed a bit of a break from watering some newly planted grass. That plus all the late blooming plants were starting to get a little dried out. Hopefully we can get another boost in a few days or so.

Can’t believe how many bees are out there still doing their business at some of the flowers. It’s really great to see at this point in the season. Sadly I pulled a few dazed honeybees out of my birdbath that looked like they were on deaths door, perhaps they had a little too much to drink! I think they all managed to make it except for one that was still a little tipsy as I was heading back inside. It was an interesting afternoon to say the least with all the crazy birds and the bees in our yard!

Man I know I probably sound like a broken record at this point but that modeled setup always reminds of our typical early spring climate while much of the rest of the country is baking and yet we’ll have that little zone of suckage parked right over us. It’s absolutely ridiculous and even a toddler could practically predict its inevitable arrival to the very day.

And less than 3 months until we start gaining daylight again. One step at a time baby.

This type of weather will hopefully have us mentally ready for the next six months of cold then gradually warmer rains that are bound to overtake us. For now, we embrace the calm before monsoon season begins! -

Yesterday would’ve been up there for sure if we just had a little sun to go with it. I’m gonna miss that easy, going summer-feel once we’re in the middle of January. Thankfully we still have some time to go until those truly dark days descend upon us. -

Another band of showers moving through now. We’ll probably end up with at least an inch and a quarter when all is said and done. We take and bake baby. -

Oh definitely, it’s good to see. I forget how bone dry it was around here a little more than a week ago. That’s practically a distant memory now. Glad to hear you got there safely. Downpours are just awful when you’re driving and reduce your visibility to near zero. Gotta really have your wits about ya in moments like that! -

Picked a great time to go for a walk lol. Thought we’d just have a quick hitting downpour and it’d be out of here in 15 mins. Man was I mistaken big time..add another solid inch to the coffers and we can just about kiss our short term drought goodbye! Sadly my nice pull over’s gonna need a good cleaning in the wash tonight haha -

It’s crazy, I can’t remember when we last had solid rain event like this for days on end here. Maybe last spring I’m guessing but hey we’ll take all this moisture even if it’s falling smack dab in the middle of the weekend. The trees and plants need it desperately, not to mention the grass which was startling to look like a scene out of an old western movie haha. -

Total dumpage right now, good lord. Where has this kind of rain been for the last month or so? I’ll have to send a few bucket fulls out by Kevin’s way lol.
