Looks like a few good downpours are about to blow through. Any moisture coming up from the south is almost always a guaranteed insta-soaking around these parts, thanks to the dozens of swamps and rivers located nearby!

Can’t believe it..just got back from a nice walk in the woods and for the first time in weeks I barely ran into any of those dreaded flies or mosquitoes. I’m sure tomorrow will be radically different with the airmass changing but that is a true and much appreciated anomaly around these parts! It’ll be great when the sun makes a comeback too, it’s been so damn dreary the last few days.

Funny how a dp around 70, which is normally considered oppressive around these parts, actually feels fairly comfortable relative to the last several days. I imagine this is what sfla is like after a weak ass cold front meanders through in the middle of January.

Dumping here right now. Had a few good cracks and the heavens have just opened up! Of course, the little doggie is terrified but it’s great to finally see some solid moisture coming through.

I mean while we get our usual localized cooldown at some point you can’t deny that overarching trend of baking heat and ridging way above what was considered normal in the meteorological domain. Without sounding like a total doomsayer I honestly feel like these trends will have irreversible effects well into the future that models will struggle to pick up on until as tip would say, is simply no longer possible to ignore.

Days and days of sweaty coc s and the odd wild turkey standing on our porch for whatever reason. Ya gotta love it!

I’m literally just sitting out on my porch right now shirtless and listening to the chirping cicadas after a nice hot shower. This is what it’s all about in the swamps of sne! Embrace it baby.

It really is a classic summer evening. You can see frogs hopping around, cicadias chirping, the odd firework going off. It’s truly a magical time of year! Now if only I could figure out how these darn moths and June bugs keep getting inside, then this evening would be even better. Those things are popping up everywhere!

86/75 It’s a sweaty, steamy swamp out there today. Fire up those grills, get your pina colada’s poured and embrace the doggy dog days of summer baby!

What a day to come back for a break. Talk about tropical rains and pure soup! Maybe I can get back down to the beach tomorrow but this is turning out to be just a classic summer with everything amped up to the nth degree!

Yep, no doubt at all. I can feel it right now even all the way down here on the cape, practically a half mile from the ocean. That should tell you how thick this airmass is. Summer still has still had some serious gas in the tank and we’re just here for the ride baby, pina coladas in one hand and the other wiping sweat away from our big tooshies!

Very choppy at the ocean today! At least the sun finally came back out after a wild night. If it wasn’t so warm you’d almost have me thinking it was early April with a storm like this. I’m totally ready for the hhh to make a comeback after an interesting little interlude!

Absolutely pouring now here in Chatham..I wish I had my camera with me earlier around high tide as the water level was far higher than it normally is, almost spilling over the boardwalk at one point. It’ll be interesting to see if we get any splash over tomorrow afternoon.

Man, that’s some biblical stuff right there. Meanwhile, our plans for tomorrow might have to wait with this sneaky little coastal storm moving up in our direction. Couldn’t have asked for better timing to get some big rains lol.

Another beauty on the beach. I think I’ve earned a few good drinks and perhaps some greasy onion rings after a few good swims in the water.

A real manly coc is 90/75. Only the most experienced of coc lovers can appreciate such high levels of dewiness. Everything else falls just a little short.

Beautiful evening down in Chatham..I kept waiting for that line of showers to give us a quick soaking but it fizzled out right before coming overhead. I guess I can’t complain about the dreaded stein effect back at home with the water issues down here!

Yeah I was just out watering the pots yesterday (mon) and the difference between that and Sunday was like night and day. It was nothing like the previous week where it felt like a giant sauna door had been left open with hardly a whisper of wind but that slight heaviness to the air was undeniable. It actually felt perfect to me given the time of year, aside from those damn flies which always seem to emerge from every nook and cranny in existence to harass anyone walking on the street!

The mugginess is def back but it just feels right for this time of year. I don’t know how else to put it. For me, it reminds us to slow down, take it easy, grab a nice cold beer and enjoy the beauty around us! Which reminds me, I gotta fill up my feeders..we have a clan of purple finches that have just been gobbling down our seed for at least the last few weeks.

I mean it really doesn’t much of a drop off to feel just a little more breathable than yesterday’s sauna and I don’t use that term lightly. Trust me, I love that classic summer feel of high heat with a distinctive moistness in the air, especially if you’re taking it easy or you happen to be at the beach. But man, last night was just something else around here, with hardly a whisper of wind combined with our proximity to literal swamps, it really could’ve fooled some people into thinking we were suddenly transported to lake okechobee! It doesn’t get quite that steamy and stagnant very often.

We had a few good rumbles here mixed in with a few downpours but sadly the good stuff stayed just a little too south. We’ll take some rain for the garden and trees..the poor hydrangeas have been sucking up water like it’s going out of style lol

Still nothing here..just a total steam bath with skeeters flying around and frogs hopping all over the place. Tomorrow is probably gonna feel like a totally different season compared to the swamps of South Carolina which have graced us with their presence lately. 79/75

Please save some action for us swampy toosh infused coastal folks. We could really use it!

I did just that earlier hoping to catch a few good shots. One of these days my obsession/innate curiosity of nature will probably be the death of me but to me, it’s all worth it in the end lol. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified of the thunder/lightning as a kid and now I practically play with house money during every storm just to get that perfect shot.
