It’s still 86 and somehow and I can’t believe it..79 with the dews. I’ve never seen it that high this early in the season. This is some historic stuff we’re witnessing all around. Even my cat isn’t venturing far from the safety of the back porch and that little dude is borderline feral lol.

You better get used to these dews baby. We’re taking this party boat all the way to Christmas and back! The fun is just getting started.

Amen to all..you rarely see this kind of enthusiasm in the buttcrack of winter, at least along the coastal plain. I’m sitting on the back deck, with a nice glass of lemonade soaking in every minute of this. This is the type of weather that leads to great legends and stories to tell for eons to come!

As the old wise men on eastern us used to say, the trend is our friend. I’m sticking with that statement as long as I’m around. Now excuse me while I get back to sipping a magarita in my Speedo’s and yelling at the woodpeckers to quit knocking on the roof!

I know I’m a little late with this but wtf was up with that wind yesterday? It was gorgeous but man that breeze was whipping, like some kind of tropical system was racing by. Couldn’t believe it at times. I guess now we wait with baited breath for the wall of heat to make its presence felt! Many shirtless (perhaps shortless?) days lie ahead..

Man it’s a steam bath out there..we’re finally in it baby. I gotta take it nice and slow with the poor dog, though. She does struggle a little at her age with the heat.

It’s starting to get a little sticky out there. After today’s showers and the rapidly changing airmass, I hope we all have a few extra pairs of shorts on hand. Many days of free balling lie ahead!

No wonder the hummers have been going crazy lately. They must have some sense of what’s coming. It’s weird as for the last few weeks or so, the feeders have been kind of quiet after the early surge in May and now they’re back with a vengeance! I think we should take the hint.

I’m getting serious 2023 Deja vu with this mist, drizzle and smoke. Iirc that pattern went on for at least two weeks in June and then when it broke, we had probably the single wettest (and muggiest) stretch I can remember. I wonder if we’ll see a similar situation occur this time around, although hopefully with a little less smoke and misery mist.

I’m thinking a couple good drinks are in order this evening to take the sting off this dreary weather today. Perhaps an espresso martini, or two?

I pulled a small tic off my ankle earlier and man those little ones cling to ya like super glue! It must’ve latched on when I was strolling through a muddy trail yesterday. Wish I took a shot of the sunset earlier too..that damn smoke was thick today. I hope we can clear this crap out for the midweek.

Hey on the plus side at least the air will be nice and steamy once the dust finally settles. Really gets me in the mood for some evening toad hunting in the swamps nearby.

Boomies and downpours..the little pooch is running around like someone just set off a tactical nuke nearby. Poor little thing.

Wonder how much the smoke filtering in enhanced the precipitation amounts in western areas. If I remember reading correctly a while ago, apparently smoke is an excellent source of ccn or cloud condensation nuclei so it may be helping to squeeze more precip from these downpours+t-storms today. Either way, the sky looked strange as hell today and those skeeters were all over me once the wind calmed down. Not a good day for a woodland stroll!

It’s a F’ing scorcher out there baby. Air is heavy, frogs are croaking, kids running around like wild Indians..ya love to see it. Step aside, the dew crew is back in town!

Man it feels nice out here but that damn smoke is unmistakeable right now..you can practically smell at it times with the gusty breeze. Hopefully it clears out for a classic HHH day tomorrow!

Yeah I noticed a few mosquitoes earlier myself before heading back inside. Def caught me off guard. Wonder if the incoming smoke has anything to do with their sudden appearance?
