Everyone here is kinda weird. It's my kinda people lol. PSU is a vampire that feeds off snowflakes. Dude never sleeps. He just studies computer models all night. He's extremely valuable so be nice!

January 25, 2000 was one of my favorite storms. Only 22" but it fell in like 14 hours. The rates were like being in a very intense lake effect snow band. I recorded over 4" in one hour along with really weird darkness like a thunderstorm. Very wild event.

The big dump. The blizzard was a bust here. That week was wild. I ended up with almost 3 feet on the ground. I received 28.5" tieing the Nickerbocker storm. Then I received about 4" from the blizzard a few days later.

Personally I think Feb 2010 was the GOAT storm for AA County.

Same. I'm staying within a few hours drive. Except in January. I'm eying Lake Placid. My family use to go there when I was a kid. I love that area.

23 here in the South River watershed. RIP ticks and mosquitoes. That should do it. 31-32 just isn't enough to shut them down.

I bet it's cold up on top of the Catoctins. I wonder if their will be any whitening of the ground up there from these snow showers. I'm seeing some fuzzy snow clouds to my west here in AA County.

This is not a deb comment. It's just I've always wondered why models always show these super rare senerios beyond day 10. You think they would show more of a climo look. Not some rare blizzard at Cape Hatteras. We get modeled 200" a year from day 10+. You'd think models would show cutters and warmth as a default. Not 30" of snow on OC lol

I follow a page on Facebook called Tughill Snow Chasers. It's just video of two old guys driving a huge plow and listening to classic rock music. They were skeptical about their location south of Watertown. This morning they are plowing with joy lol.

It's wild how it has to be 10-15 degrees below freezing outside the beltway for DC to get 1 degree below freezing. 26 here in AA County

This is the DMV. It's normal to have shut out periods around here. In my 46 years of life in MD i don't remember it ever being cold for more than 2 weeks at a time. Even our big snow year 2009-10 was a drip fest. I've learned to enjoy what we do get and don't look ahead to far.

You think? We had that stretch last January of below freezing for over a week. My point and click isn't nearly that cold.

About the same here. We're slowly becoming less dry. Very slowly. Hopefully we can get some real QPF producers in Dec. Preferably in the form of snow, of course. I know my climo in AA County so I'm not holding my breath lol.

Oh great. I can't wait to be trolled by clippers again. Seems like we had a swarm of them in the early 2000's and they always ended up trashcan toppers lol

I was out in the Catoctins today. It was a ripper up there. I'll be on the Allegheny Front Range by 7 tomorrow morning. I'll be out there all weekend. Send me a PM tomorrow. 39 with light rain at home base. Truck is packed. -
What's your elevation? This is why I laugh at you when you whine all summer about missing thunderstorms lol. It's 40 and raining where I live lol

The Catoctins got rocked today. I got up there around 11:15 and it wasn't sticking to the roads. It was snowing steadily but not that heavy. When I left around 1230 it was blizzard conditions with very heavy snow. The wind was coming in big gust that whipped up snownados. I bet there 6-8" up there by now. Possibly more.

The difference with elevation is wild. I went from blizzard conditions and 30 degrees to 36 and rain in about a half mile. Back in Crofton and it's light rain and 39. Still a chill day for November.

It's wild up here. Humbling and beautiful. It reminds me of the blizzard of 96 in AA County lol. It's just ripping up here. Blizzard conditions. I've unfortunately got to head back home and get ready for WV early in the morning.
