    My wife just informed me that apparently a train has become stuck in a snow drift south of DeKalb. A TRAIN.

    Four days of steady north wind with 10" of sugar means I have 6' tall drifts to deal with tomorrow when the wind dies down.

    Out here in corn country, I judge snow cover by how much corn stubble is still visible. In 25 years, I can't recall it being this deep for this long, ever. There is barely a corn stalk visible in any field.

    Funny...my MIL in Syc says she's had hardly any. Still lots of sleet and FZR mixed in down my way. Fine grains not big flakes.
