Approximately 14-15" in Rochester, VT. Measured 11" this morning and looks like another 4" fell while we were away. Skiing at Pico was heavenly. Sugarbush tomorrow.

Funny that the KENX radar now shows a hole over us but it's snowing harder and with better growth than it has at any time this evening. Maybe the beam picks up snow differently depending on what altitude it's being generated?

Snowgrowth in Rochester VT has improved dramatically. Snowflakes are casting shadows as they fall. The current rate is not extraordinary, probably about 1"/hour, but it will pile up quickly if it lasts as long as forecast. We've got about 7.5" so far. Killington/Pico/Sugarbush webcams look good

Anyone have a link that shows the EPO index forecast? Thanks. -
For those of us who love winter, you'd be surprised how deep the pathology goes.

Agree with you that few folks like being cold, but being out in the cold (even the very cold) does not equal being cold. My friends and I who are out in the bitterest weather skiing, running, biking, and hiking surely tolerate more cold than some folks, but we're pretty comfy for the most part. There's a fair amount of truth to the adage that there is no bad weather, only bad clothing. It's very helpful to be active when it's cold. It's not impossible to dress warmly for being sedentary outside, but it's much more challenging.

Wounded Duck Strikes Back: Dec 26 & 27th Winter Storm Obs

Started around 7PM and already closing in on 5" in Middletown. Been a while. 20F -
January had so much low-density snow in the Killington area that the healthy seasonal snow total didn't really reflect the lack of depth in the woods for a while, but it's truly deep in the woods (and nats) now.

Drove through the lake effect band on 91 in VT in the Bellows Falls/Saxons River area about an hour or so ago. Pretty intense! Highway was completely snow covered. Looks like Stratton is getting hammered on their web cams. Really interesting weather the past few days. Skied Killington on Sunday because the Pico summit lift was closed. On the Bear/Needles Eye side of the resort it wasn't windy at all. Heard it was howling all day at Pico. Summit lift was closed again today with very high winds at Pico. Snow has been really good overall. They're reporting 17" storm total, which seems plausible. No icing during the day at Killington on Sunday, just sleet between the two rounds of snow. Same here in Reading where we ended up with about 10". Will try to get first tracks at Pico when the finally open the summit, hopefully tomorrow.

I've heard such people exist but always had my doubts (welcome to the board )
