I am getting a "meh" feeling for today. Expecting 1-2 inches. Low level moisture seems lacking as Julian stated. Oh well, will at least set a holiday mood.
Hope the cold won't suppress moisture. If the mean trough axis is in the Midwest, I think we should be able to cash in on pieces of energy going around the base of the trough. Question is magnitude of any event.
Anything can happen the next few months and I don't think any winter forecast is high confidence, but I am getting a sinking feeling of a much warmer than normal winter with much below normal snow. I hope I am wrong.
I don't know about you all, but I am preparing myself for a pretty boring winter based on what has been and what seems to be a moderate nina. Will be nice get seasonably cool the next week after some action tomorrow into Wednesday.
Yeah, it is a bummer. When the cooler weather hit late August, I was very hopeful for a vibrant color season, but not to be. The hot weather killed it.
