  1. I am all for an early Spring and warm weather if we can't get snow. But of course, it will likely be a cold, wet, miserable spring, pretty much the same temps and weather it is now.
  2. The Pac NW usually does well relatively with snow during La Nina winters
  3. I feel like I am living in London or Seattle. Day after day of cloudy, gloomy weather with only a few sunny exceptions with rain every few days.
  4. We are in the minority who are bummed. Most of the public is eccstatic and thrilled there isn't any snow. I see those comments online.
  5. Agree. I hate cloudy and mild in the winter. I would much rather have sun if it's going to be mild.
  6. Forget snowstorm.. Begging for even an inch. Even a dusting would be nice. It's really bizarre the complete lack of snowfall up here, not even flurries or snow showers, except for that event in Dec that bagged me 3-4 inches. Back in the day with snow droughts, I remember TV mets would say "cheer up snow lovers, mother nature has a way of balancing things out, be patient." Not sure about that balancing reassurance nowadays
  7. Not holding my breath. Chasing the carrot is getting tiring.
  8. I am choosing to be patient for snow and enjoy going outside without freezing my whatever off. Here where I live, only 3-4 inches so far for the season. Let's see what happens eventually.
  9. Just give me one big snow and I won't mind an early Spring.
  10. We never learn the lesson to not give any psychological weight, any emotional investment into forecasts beyond 5 days, no matter how loud the hype or how strong the signal.
  11. The cutter solutions this far out often stick to verify because there is so much geographical freedom, possibilities for warm, rainy solutions...... 100 miles west or 1000 miles west or anything in between. For a snowy solution, you have such limited margin for error with track.
  12. Yeah, nothing but rain here in Poughkeepsie so far. So bummed.
  13. Looks too familiar from up here in Poughkeepsie. Flashbacks.
  14. Ahh, I see weenie tagging season beginning early.....
  15. Is this warm pattern projected to last the test of the Spring? I am perfectly OK with it.
  16. Same where I am. Haven't officially measured, but eyeballing 4 where I am. Still can't crack the 6 inch barrier
  17. Sigh, such is this winter. Oh well, I am grateful for this much snow today regardless. It's a real winter wonderland out there.
  18. Mesoscale Discussion 0249 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0753 AM CST Sat Mar 12 2022 Areas affected...Parts of eastern Pennsylvania...northern New Jersey...eastern New York State...western New England Concerning...Heavy snow Valid 121353Z - 121800Z SUMMARY...A corridor of heavy snow will develop north-northeastward across the region through 11 AM-1 PM EST, including occasional hourly rates up to 1-2 inches per hour. DISCUSSION...As consolidating, amplified mid-level troughing gradually pivots eastward across the lower Great Lakes and upper Ohio Valley vicinity, the corridor of strongest lower/mid tropospheric frontogenetic forcing is forecast to continue to develop north-northeastward, inland of northern Mid Atlantic coastal through western New England by 16-18Z. This appears likely to include a period of lift becoming maximized within the 700-500 mb layer, where saturating profiles within the dendritic growth layer will become conducive to heavy snow rates on the order of 1-2 inches per hour. Although lower levels are still above freezing across parts of western New England, temperatures will cool in response to low-level cold advection, as deepening elongated surface low pressure migrates across the northern Mid Atlantic through southern New England coastal areas.
  19. For once... For ONCE this winter, my area is in the highest snowfall range across the metro.
