  1. Almost continuous ctc lightning (or thunder at least) here ahead of this incoming line. 58F currently.
  2. How was it? Looked like it popped up over the river...
  3. A lot of ctc lightning here, nice orange blob on the doorstep to the west. Currently 48F.
  4. 1st mow today, probably the 1st March mow since we've been here (9 years). Green feng shui either way :-)....
  5. Some light wet snow just started here - 39F, DP 28F. Yay snow!
  6. Had a few flakes mixed in here too, so it didn't go by unnoticed at least.
  7. Heard peepers last night, and had our 1st groundhog sighting yesterday. Nice today, 55F and sunny, with a little bit of wind.
  8. Don't know about elsewhere, but it's been pretty windy here at times tonight. Forecast was for 10-15 mph winds but there had to be gusts up to 25 or 30. We had a kettle fire tonight and the wind in the trees was roaring at times.
  9. I can handle the cold as long as there's snow involved, otherwise at this point, 40's at least would be fine. Today was real nice.
  10. Spring fever is in the air! 43F here so far.
  11. Looking forward to 40's and sunny here, for outside work! Made it to 24F here, currently 31F.
  12. Wow - that's good! None here yet, although I did see a couple of flowers on a forsythia out back last weekend.
  13. Not too many in a row though which is helping the buds etc to stay on the down low.
  14. I'm ready for 50s and 60s soon if it's not going to snow. I think the long stretches without snow to liven things up make the winter feel longer. At the same time I'm kind of glad it hasn't been too warm for too long, it seems to be helping the buds etc. to remain semi-dormant. Spring flowers in February probably wouldn't work out.
  15. I remember Jan. 1987 and Jan. 1978 particularly for 2 or 3 northeasters in a row, and Elliot on at 25 after the hour I think when he would do a synoptic discussion of what was going on, and why it would start as snow and then change to rain with 2 to 4" in the NW suburbs before the changeover. And in both years the last storm didn't changeover until we had like 11". That was pretty cool. I really enjoyed the in depth discussions. Might have had it at 55 after the hour as well, not sure though.
  16. Sounds good to me! Furthermore, the 12z ICON backs it up. Rooting for the underdogs!
  17. The previous version was erratic until about 3 days out. No data to check with the new version since we haven't had one since its been in service full time (almost a year?). Another reason why we need a Miller A, lol.
  18. 6 weeks till the March snows- BRING IT!
