  1. 93 was pretty mild through November.December 93 turned colder especially from the 20th on which was perfect timing
  2. 75-76 strong nina, maybe an analog?..Warm November. cold December(snowed on Christmas)..cold January, very warm February
  3. 60's was great for snow around Christmas..that's when I grew up so I thought all Christmas's were snowy and white..lol..little did I know.I guess my expectations took a dive the next 50 years
  4. Shows you how rare pre Christmas,Christmas major snowfalls are rare..we went from Dec 69 to Dec 95 without one
  5. 93-94 and 95-96 was great..March 93 had the blizzard..and really that was it basically
  6. There was a mix of rain and snow at the time of the crash..rainstorm on the 22nd wiped out most of the snowcover on the coast..snow showers Christmas eve
  7. Summer Place was #1 in March 1960..the Dion song was Where Or When..December 1960 Elvis was # 1 with Are You Lonesome Tonight..there were tons of instrumentals on the chart with Exodus,Wondeland By Night and Last Date
  8. Think Dec 47 was correctly forecasted..I was born 11 years later,so who knows
  9. Remember both..Think Atlantic city got a foot of snow in Feb 89..just snow flurries here..December 89 was a Miller B..east winds killed it..Month was brutally cold between systems
  10. It was so different back then. The extended forecast was 2 days. And there was no radar,so you never knew when the snow would begin or end.Now short term models can zone in on the exact minute. It was better not knowing.I'd rather not know in a week from now it's going to be a torch..Back then you only knew tonight, tomorrow and the next day.
  11. Lindsay and Jan 78 were the best busts when I was growing up.They expected mostly rain on both. There were many bad busts in the 60s and 70s. March 3rd 71 was supposed to be a snowstorm. We ended up with a little wet snow in the beginning, then a quick change to rain. There were a few in the late 60s with Heavy Snow Warnings and you woke up to party sunny.Stars out at night was a bad sign lol
  12. 10-11..constant snowcover from Boxer Blizzard to the middle of February..almost 2 months
  13. well you have seen many winters..i think we have to agree there has been nothing close to this when it comes to snowcover..hope all is well..happy shoveling
