  1. Screw this winter...honestly screw every winter here. I’m so sick of missing 6-12 inch storms by 100 miles on every side of us. I don not want another 2-4 inch event.
  2. Yeah, I can’t stand when people from other regions say “you get 30-40 inches every year, stop complaining.” Hell I even had someone on our sub tell us that we should be happy to live here snow wise rather than dc because we average around 40 inches. I would rather average 20-25 inches a year, but have a chance at a storm that is a foot plus every couple years rather than having to get excited about events that overperform for 3 inches. Seriously, when I saw the upstate NY crowd complaining about not hitting kuchera totals in our giant bust event several weeks ago, or when I see the mid Atlantic complaining about misses when they’ve had multiple foot plus storms in the last five years, I really have to hold my tongue from getting myself banned. We live in a god awful spot for snowstorms.
  3. Add them to my list of folks that I don’t want to see get another storm...didn’t they get a huge blizzard last year too?
  4. Can someone explain why sitting off the coast by 100 miles means it weakens? I remember Harvey last year absolutely crawling onto the coast and bombing out while it was just off shore?
  5. I get angry at this every time....especially on a weather board where people should know better and understand shifts do happen. It is is much better to inconvenience some people and be over prepared than have a catastrophic disaster and be under prepared.
  6. I’m very concerned. I have family in Charleston, and also sunset beach, NC. The ones in sunset beach don’t live in the barrier island, but they are maybe less than a mile from the sound. I know track is key. If it hits north of them, they are probably ok. If it hits near the nc/sc border, the ones in sunset beach are frankly screwed, and I doubt they will evacuate.
  7. So since this is going to be approaching at a rather odd angle for the area (more e to w than s to n) does that increase surge potential since it basically can work up a long fetch of surge?
  8. Hey! Another two inch event!!! Maybe I should move to snow havens like Norfolk, Wilmington, nc, Charleston, Savannah, or birmingham to get a decent storm!!!!
  9. It is awesome to see Charleston get a bigger snow event than we have in the last 3 winters.....
  10. Midtown, willing to trace around though. I’m open to anything but my brother would want steak, seafood, or Italian.
  11. Way off topic guys, but I am going to be in the city next week for one night and looking for a place that is in the 30-50 range per person for dinner. any suggestions are appreciated!!
  12. Exactly what I was thinking. We've been bullseyed 24 hour out before with 10 + inches all snow, only to have the mix line move to the ny/pa state line by the time the event starts. I've even seen events thr were going to hit Cleveland three or four days out end up south if us. It never moved the right way for us!
  13. Look, if you want to have at it and troll, do it here. This is the thread for the "this is going to bust" and "all the models show 4-8, but I say we only get 1-3!!!!" thread.
  14. This is pathetic. If this storm went as far north in the final two days as last weeks, we'd be looking at 8 inches. Instead this will not come north. We get screwed no matter what.
  15. It is amazing that no matter what, we get a terrible trend here. We are supposed to get a 10 inch storm here every 5 years...It seems the last 15 years or so there was 2/5/10 and that's it.
  16. Lol. You can stop now. I'm done responding to you. Have a great day!
  17. I hate that no matter what, we are also on a fringe...either way. I also don't like when make proclamations that defy out climo and then get annoyed when they are called on it.
  18. I'm done responding to you. I will just say that intelligence isn't knowing everything...intelligence is realizing that you don't know everything, and that people like bylsma and those in the nws know more about their professions than you would in 500 years of following as an amateur. Thinking you are more of an expert than the actual experts, is IMO, one of the best examples of ignorance.
  19. You can't be over the age of 16...I think you are one of the group of pittsburgh rants trolling posters.
