  1. Marty walsh apparently sent a cease and desist to a Boston harbor cruise company, that allegedly was operating at 1/3 capacity because he didn’t like the way the pictures looked with the amount of people. Apparently we have reached the politicians doing literally whatever they want when they want portion of the pandemic.
  2. It’s all about the money, as usual. I will say this though, I’d like to think there will be some staying power for this vaccine. If we have to get a booster or something every 2 or 3 months for it to work I think we are in a lot of trouble.
  3. Someone who wants things to get back to normal? I’ll take it, somebody is going to have to in order for us to get back to some sort of normal. And I don’t think they’ll be administering something that’ll give you 5 heads in a year, I’m sure the risks will be low. I do find it funny how everyone is clamoring for a return to normal and when push comes to shove a lot of folks are like “ehhhhh I’ll pass on the vaccine for now”. You really can’t have it both ways
  4. I don’t blame them for looking for something other than the “same old same old”. And obviously it’s not going to be that. Do we really think an option on the table ever has been send them back and do nothing as far as precautions? I’m all for fighting for better precautions and safety but it doesn’t seem like anything is going to be okay.
  5. Looks like Mass is removing RI from quarantine exempt states. Anyone from mass traveling back from RI now needs to quarantine.
  6. I understand that, but teaching isn’t really something that can be done remotely. I work in facilities at a local university, I don’t have the luxury of working from home. You just can’t do it, especially long term.
  7. Yeah I personally liked a hybrid approach to start. Something like one week on one week off or 2 days and 3 days etc etc. I really think continued remote learning is going to be a disaster for growth, especially younger kids. (Not saying you), but I find it weird that teachers seem to be the only group not being asked to assume some risk returning to work. Everyone is assuming some sort of risk leaving their home and going to work, why should they be any different? As long as reasonable precautions are taken, what more can you ask?
  8. Looks like local schools will be 100% remote for a few months at least, very likely longer. Teachers unions putting on the full court press to not go back. Looks to be working. Wish I could not go back to work and eliminate all risk.
  9. Cloudy with peeks of sun and a light breeze.
  10. It’s not.. weenies getting a little carried away in here. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades
  11. Looks pretty mundane on all fronts here... wind is meh and it looks like we may not see much in he way of any rain.
  12. Yeah sell the wind.... I’d like the rain though... models so far today look a bit better for that. .25-.50 coming from random tropical showers isn’t going to cut it.
  13. Ukie would actually get a few inches of rain in this area
  14. Yup... wet gunna wet. Most modeling has like a half an inch of rain here.... that won’t even put a dent in the dry conditions here.
  15. @dendrite Here are the trees from fast growing trees. October glory red maple and the Japanese maple.
  16. Rich get richer.... this isn’t even worth following. I expect dry conditions in eastern NE
  17. Agreed. It’s not going to last. Intentions are good, but it’s impossible to control three thousand kids, and all it takes is one to start a spreading event.
  18. 2500ish... we’ll see if it actually happens like that lol, but that is what we’ve been told.
  19. Half day twice a week? That’s rough. You’d think it’d be easier to just keep everyone hoMe
  20. The college I work at is doing on boarding testing before kids can move in and after that staff and students will be tested twice a week.
  21. Yup.... and guess who this will negatively impact the most if kids can’t go back in person? Minorities and lower income families. Most working class families can’t afford to hire someone to watch their child 5 days a week for 6+ hours that school would normally take care of.
