  1. So I have the pleasure of getting off my parents health insurance next month (turning 26) and am choosing between an hmo and ppo for myself and wife. Ive always has a ppo on my parents insurance, and that has worked well, especially when needing to see a specialist for various reasons. Im leaning ppo, any practical reasons not to do so? Its about 50$ more per pay period and co pays are 10$ higher
  2. Some models start to show it and dr no comes in and slaps us across the face
  3. CMC is a decent look for that.... kind of surprised just looking at lunch. Would be wintry at least for a time
  4. Late April like morning here. Not bad out already. Has the feel of a warm day upcoming... should be a good day to be outside at work
  5. To be fair though, does some cat paws in May really save the season? I mean, it’s been wretched. Your statistics even back that up... 8” between 12/20 and now? Yuck... does t get much worse than that. Most folks got half their snow in an event the first days of December, little since. I know people are trying to spin this as not so bad because of the early December event but I mean, come on, it’s been awful ever since. I don’t get the odd need for many to defend this winter, especially south of like hubb and Hippie
  6. Hoping the warm temps keep up. Backyard is getting done this year. Putting loam down.... going to need a lot of it
  7. How could it not be? About half of my snow came in that event the first few days of December. We literally have had scraps for 3 months now. The biggest event we had was that MLK weekend event that dropped like 3” LOL
  8. Yeah.... we done here. Bulbs popping up, buds on trees, grass is even greening up in places. I’m glad there is still a bunch of snow in moosefart NNE, but we are absolutely engaging in spring here, no doubt about it
  9. Combination of temps and a newer home has done wonders for my heating expenses this year. Topped of our 500 gallon propane tank end of March last year (80% is considered full, due to expansion etc etc). So this winter we started at 80%... currently sit at 50% remaining as we approach March... highly doubt we go lower than 40% by the end of the “heating” season. Quick math based on what we’ve used and price we paid last March puts us at about 110$ a month to heat our home.... not bad
  10. Yeah.... laughably expensive.... and I’m sure everyone wants wires and cords running all over the place
  11. ... already done... had it shocked in November, been good since. In all seriousness, get out there and enjoy the warm weather folks. It ain’t gunna snow so get out and enjoy what you got
  12. Gfs pretty much says you can punt the rest of this winter. What a hideous look. More of the same.... rain
  13. I think he’s thinking the exact opposite of “positive”.
  14. The eps go out 300+ hours? And the answer is obviously the eps.. it’s winter 2020
  15. Better chance it’ll be snow than SNE severe, even on June 5th
  16. That gfs solution at 300 hours would be lol.... all time heavy snow
  17. Well, to be fair. Some areas did see a big event. But I mostly agree. I think people might be starting to hedge a bit given we are running out of time, maybe trying to put lipstick on a pig a bit. I don’t see it. You got a big storm the first day of December and then half a foot of snow the rest of the year, that’s a bad winter, sorry.
  18. Not that’s it surprising given the tenor of the season or the timeframe (150+) hours out.... but a pretty decent jump back NW on the gfs after a couple cycles flirting with wintry precip in SNE
  19. Gfs continues to look a bit better for the 27-28th system. That’s pretty close to being a nice solution for most of SNE
  20. Maybe I’m wrong but it looks like a lot of west storm tracks with a lot of rain for most south of the currently favored areas
  21. Cutter after cutter after cutter on the gfs. Not that 300 hour solutions mean much... but it has been pretty consistent with that... and we are through almost a full week of March on these runs now
  22. I agree that things look better after the next 7 days or so, but we definitely can’t afford to kick the cab anymore. It’s either improving this time and we’ll have legit chances or we are done. And as everyone knows, better pattern does not equal snow. So for now, just hoping we don’t end up punting anymore time, because frankly, we can’t afford it
  23. I laughed at that one... Deep South gets a snowstorm but everything relaxes jussssstttttt in time for our next Rainer early next week. Winter 19-20 rolls on
  24. Honestly... 12z would fit this winter perfect... it pinwheels across NNE or Southern Canada and gives far northern areas snow. I bet it’ll look something like that
  25. 6z gfs would be a nice fix for this seasons shortcomings. But it will be over Chicago at 12x
