Bought a couple of thuja green giant arborvitaes today. Anyone have experience with these?
We have slowly trying to create pockets of trees and bushes that will give our yard a bit of privacy.
Description says they can grow to be 60 feet tall and grow 4-6 feet per year. That would Be awesome, but seems hard to believe.
Couple of my evergreen holly bushes took a beating from the deer again this year. Last year they put out new growth and recovered nicely.
So far, no new growth on either plant. Don’t know what to do, because I’m not sure if they are “dead” or not.
. We literally said that tonight. Sitting on the deck trying to record new birds we may not have gotten yet, as we approach 30 years old. Life comes at you fast.
We have a crap ton of birds around here. We put a feeder out back just into the woods. My wife has an app through Cornell to log birds at the feeder and in the area by sound and it’s incredible.
Shes at like 30+ birds.
We just recorded a barred owl
If it was only a couple, I think I would get that, but I’m talking thousands lol.
I ended up buying Scott’s dandelion and feed that hooks up to the hose.
Yeah I’ve been following him for it. He’s got like a 23 part story to date. It’s hard to read his information and come away with any other conclusion that the girlfriend did not hit and kill him with the car.
I thought I was kind of done landscaping to be honest. I’ve had to spend like $500 replacing shot due to the cold snap. It’s always something.
and I didn’t order enough mulch
It’s amazing how much damage that cold snap did to some of my stuff. I lost all of these small evergreen ground cover shrubs I had. All three of my mature rose bushes were flowering on like one stem. Even a few of my holly bushes got zapped on the new growth from last year.
