  1. This is what happens when people who aren't educated in weather write about weather. Confusing coastal flood advisories with flash flood products. We aren't getting heavy rain tomorrow. Sent from my Samsung Note 8
  2. Why go by what other people said? The Nam is freely available for you to see and make your own opinion. Anyway the Nam scored a big victory with this today. Even the nws discounted it all week long saying the precipitation on the Nam is too far north. The euro and gfs aren't always the best. Sent from my Samsung Note 8
  3. Current damage reports so far. This should increase over the next few hours. Sent from my Samsung Note 8
  4. Mean looking line heading for Long Island. Sent from my Samsung Note 8
  5. Models nailed these rotating cells. Sent from my Samsung Note 8
  6. Heavy rainfall is more than 0.30 inches of rain per hour. So yes it's heavy rain. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  7. Hrrr keeps uping the ante when it comes to wind gusts tonight. Instead of those stronger gusts being isolated to eastern long island they make it west into the city. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  8. Definitely a small window for isolated severe weather tonight around midnight, mostly confined to the east end of long Island. A quick spin up isn't out of the question Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  9. It's pretty much tropical storm force winds to areas closest to the low in New England. That's about right for 970s. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  10. I tried to get out as much as I could the last 6 months and photograph storms around New York City. Here is a time lapse compilation I created. Most are shot around NYC but a few are from Long Island and Upstate.
  11. Yeah it's very impressive along the jersey shore tonight as well. Have to monitor for a possible coastal storm again next week as well. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  12. Moderate floodong in Freeport this morning. Will post my videos later Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  13. Hopefully people along the normal coastal flooding areas park their cars on higher ground. Strong wording from Upton https://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=okx&wwa=coastal flood warning

  16. Major coastal flooding now forecasted for Freeport during Friday mornings high tide cycle. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  17. A timelapse I shot yesterday morning in the Catskills.
  18. The last time we had a coastal storm like this was October 27th 2018. While that was a slightly different setup, the wind gusts were forecasted to be similar to this week storms but under performed big time however moderate to major coastal flooding did occur for some areas.
  19. Yeah a few models Including the European model say it's possible for Dorian to ride up the coast. We are leaving tomorrow morning for Florida. Plan on intercepting the eye / eyewall like we did with Michael.
